pokesomi
Pretty much anything from Linksys will work fine. Not sure if you have a ps3 or xbox 360 but I don't recommend netgear or even dlink. Linksys for me is the only way to go. the WRT54G is a good model and fairly easy to setup. Also if you do get a router please change the default passwords after you are setup. if i find an IP address and they have not changed their passwords, I leave a little note. SyphonPayne
I recommend the Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS preferrably the GL, and throw DD-WRT on them. G/GS versions 5 and up have to be hacked to run custom firmware and have limited amounts of flash memory and RAM.
BeeRizzle
Netgear. I have a Netgear WGR614. Its only $25-40. The thing is a horse. Very reliable. Same one I've got. I started with linksys, broke. Went to d-link, broke. Got this one, not broke. EDIT: You can get it for 50 USD strait from Netgear. I paid almost 40 USD for mine. vettefan88
I use the linksys WRT54G. I just purchased it for about $50 and it works great for my 360. the router is a floor below the 360, and I pick up the signal great, and play lag-free. of course, if you ARE making this purchase for the 360, I know you'll need to wireless adaptor, which runs for about $80 now. (they dropped the price a WEEK after I payed $100 for it... what the hell)

Hell I found a WRT54G at a thrift store for $5 and I threw DD-WRT on it and used it as a wireless extender/repeater and now I have wifi coverage all throughout my house. I have 3 of them so far and will probably have more.

Every router has lag, but I programed mine to set the gaming packets as first priority. And to answer your question not as mush as other routers. stevie-ray
I bought some TP-link router that I'm sure the shop just wanted to get rid of. Would NOT work. I already have mini-network setup off a single adsl modem. It only has one ethernet port and one usb port. Both going to 2 comps. I want something that doesnt need any setup, just plug-n-play pretty much. Anything like that available in Aus and under 100? It just needs to divide the ethernet cable so it can go to a comp and a console.

I haven't noticed any lag on my 360, and I have a wireless router running between floors in my house. the only time I have noticed lag was when it was with another player that had a bad connection, but aside from those few players the game and everybody else is lag free. if you have a good internet connection you shouldn't have a problem with a wireless router, because the weakened singla given out by it should still be strong enough to play a smooth game. but if you have weak internet service, the router will only weaken it beyond a playable speed. evi1d33d
Netgear. I have a Netgear WGR614. Its only $25-40. The thing is a horse. Very reliable. Maybe I just have bad luck or something but my WGR614 goes down faster than a Liberty City hoe. Usually I had to reset the router 3 times a week because it gets clogged up from too many requests doing game server scan. I'll recommend getting a WRT54G and flash DD-WRT on it and turn it into a $200 beast.
