I have a simple solution, get both. I will be getting the ps3 version first, then the 360 version not too long after. I have both consoles, and am not a fanboy, but I don't trust my 360 enough with buying this game for 360 first, because I know my 360 will either die, or give me that damn dirty disc error all the time, making the game unplayable. rolleyes.gif

Now on to this topic.

 

As a proud owner of the Atari 2600, Colecovision, Nintendo NES, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Turbographix, Playstation, Playstation 2, the Original X-Box and now the X-box 360... I think it's fair to say that I've been playing video games for quite some time. With all the various consoles I've owned I think it's also fair to say that I've never played into that whole "fanboy" mentality.

 

So as far as this debate is concerned I personally don't care too much. It's true I only own the 360 right now but this machine has been everything AND MORE to me for the past two years now.

 

I haven't used or played on the PS3 yet but to be honest... it really doesn't have too many WOW games for it and most of my friends that do have it (or had it) are selling it (or sold it) simply because the Xbox Live is a system that REALLY works.

 

Now I know that HOME is on its way and man thats great for PS3 owners but I really doubt that it will be as well integrated into the gaming experience like Xbox Live is. Also since its new it will suffer the same integrity problems that every network has to face... not to mention the various technical glitches it will have.

 

When I bought into the whole "Next Gen" experience I wanted exactly THAT. The 360 that I own is the original 360 that I purchased on Launch day so I've had no "red rings of death". (Although I know a few of my buddies who unfortunately have experienced that issue. Thankfully Microsoft has that replacement plan and within 2 weeks all of them had their machines back and the problems have never risen again).

 

The 360 just WORKS. The whole Xbox Live thing is amazing and is a BIG part of the reason why so many gamers have taken to it. That and the achievements. I'm sure Sony will copy that concept with HOME... and they should... cuz it works!

 

Any differences between games played on these consoles will be very very TINY. Like nearly unnoticeable. I don't see how that should detract anyone from buying one over the other. Good post, but it is an exercise in fanboyism. That's like McCain giving you a speech about his values, his policies, and his view of his opponents, but then saying that it's not Republicanism, but the truth, just how he sees it from his perspective.

 

In the end, all you can do to avoid 'fanboyism' is just not make statements about which console is better. It's like discussing politics, religion and art.
