R3VOLUTiON16
I know a whole assload of people were complaining, saying if this, and this, were more relistic, then the game would be cooler. But if it was too realistic, don't you think the game would get kind of boring? I'll admit it, some things would be cool, like getting pulled over for speeding, or running a stoplight. If you go tpulled over for that, it would be cool. But you guys are saying some crazy stuff man. If a game is too realistic, then it get's boring, because it's all the same, kind of like the Sim's. That game get's boring after the first couple days. So I think that it's a good thing they're leaving some things out. What do you guys think? But realistic explosions are cool
. Chippy .
I agree that too much realism could ruin the game, being pulled over for speeding would probably seem cool the first few times but after a few would really get annoying, its things like that they should keep out. but things that i would love to see in the game is a gradual build up of dirt on your car, and being able to go to a car wash, speed cameras and getting a bill when you return to your safehouse, simple little animations like brushing your teeth in your safehouse getting a shower dropping a missile etc would be a fun little time waster and would add for people wanting to really live life in the game! mrernie
Gettings pulled over for speeding and running red lights may seem cool, but it isn't. It made The Getaway very annoying when you just want to get from A to B.

dave1927p
when you get arrested for murder you get sent to a holding cell where u are questioned, from there u go to court and get sent to prison for life. 35 years later your back on the streets for some revenge but u are too old so you just kick back and watch some television....now theres a great GTA gotta love realism

.Up&Coming.
I agree. I would hate to have gasoline and stuff. But, I think it would be cool if people (even Niko) sort of coughed and choked in the smoke of the explosions. I just hope it doesn't make them bend over for 10 effing seconds like idiots like in SA. msdoble
Maybe when you die in the game your console should simultaneously burn the game disk, so once your dead thats it, life does not have a reset button!

DieScream
As long as the realism is fun, then it should be included. Running out of gas, having to pay your cell bill, having to take a crap, these things shouldn't be included. Things like realistic death animations, falling damage, and ped behavior are good. If it isn't fun, ditch it. If it is realistic and fits the gameplay, include it.
.Up&Coming.
I would love to see 1-star crimes just get a ticket. Unless it's killing someone. Say, if you hit a cop car, you get a ticket. That would be better. It would be cool to see an ambulance come pick you up when you get wasted (in the death sense). What I like is that Niko actually uses every step when he goes up them! Except, I remember reading that he was unusually slow when he went up the steps. (No I'm not finding that for anyone) Those are the realistic things that wouldn't bug me in this game. bonesmccoy
Finally some sanity about levels of realism. I can accept the need to eat, change clothes - that much can be accomplished in 2 secs only every once in a while and not effect gameplay all that much. It appears that some folks seem to want this, and other games, to imitate life too closely. There is nothing enjoyable about pumping gas, unless watching fuel prices go up, your bank balance go down and fumes go into your lungs is a yet to discovered favourite past-time that we've all been dying to experience in the virtual gaming world. GTA is not Sims. As far as the realistic cops, I wouldn't want them to be too stringent. Mafia and The Getaway had speeding tickets and other traffic offenses, and it wasn't really a great addition to gameplay. What I hope Rock* does do is make the police react in kind to your offenses. For example, bumping into a bike cop/cop car should not result in said cop jumping out and filling my car with lead. Perhaps they could make running red lights and speeding count towards a wanted star. You could have a running tally of traffic violations and eventually a general APB would go out for you, resulting in one wanted star. Meh.
Knight_Yellow
There is no such thing as too much realism. Think about it, if you could litteraly live life without any punishment. If that was possible i would litteraly run outside and steal a car then just mow people over for the sheer fun of it all. Id get a rifle and climb a tower. Id visit a brothel and have my way with them all then steal all my cash back and burn it down. Muahahahahahahah

I don't think they should give one star for speeding, red lights, etc. since that's basically what you're constantly doing. What I did read somewhere was that the cops aren't as "gun-happy" or something like that. So, they don't really freak out and start shooting you until it's a big offense. I could deal with getting a star if you continually crash into every car you see, but I would love to see that if you do get caught, you just get some type of ticket instead of being sent to jail right away. R3VOLUTiON16
I think R* should make it so if you hit a cop car, instead of a trip to jail, just get a ticket. I'm sick of running into a ped car and me getting thrown out of the car by a cop, it's like JUST CALM DOWN MAN! I think this is a good topic

Muahahahahahahah Actually, I had an idea for an MMORPG that allows you to basically live life as a first-person game. It would have very good graphics (better than the average next-gen game, but not too realistic) and an innovative combat system, where you can grab anything simply by moving your hand over it with the mouse and clicking it. The physics would be modeled after real life, as well as damage and inventories. And it'll probably not happen for a decade or two.

atlkid_3
Yeah it would be cool if they just give u a ticket for running into a cop car, but i would to actually like to go to jail and have the decision to break out of jail or skip to past your sentence and when you get out you might miss out on certain missions (like Oblivion) and you have a jail record. Yeah, but what if you commit mass murders and are sentenced for life? I guess you could pick to break out, but I think that's a little too much. You never know though; they do have a prison in this game.
atlkid_3
I wonder if you killed a bunch of ppl then get busted if they send you to the prison in Alderney or if you get into a fight they send you to there local jail.
