Gamefools
Hello Everyone out there! I wanted to know is there a way to reduce Traffic In San Andreas For Real,Not The Cheat code (G H O S T T O W N),Because that cheat eliminates all Ped's for some reason .. I would like to keep the ped's on the street, and only reduce the Traffic. And that is to reduce the lag for my PC hopefully!?
OrionSR
You could try reducing the number of cars in popcycle.dat in the SA data folder. Better make a backup 1st.

OrionSR
Uuuh ..so how would I go about changing the popcycle.dat once im in there?Im editing it with notepad! Well, um... I'm not sure as I've never attempted this type of modification. However, the comment at the top of the file that reads, "#Cars is the maximum number of cars you can ever have." seems to be a pretty good clue. I would start by reducing the number of cars (#Cars) in each of the 2-hour-slots in an easily recognized and crowded zone type and see if there are less cars on the road than before. If not, then perhaps check the weekday/weekend to see if that is messing things up. If it seems to be working, be sure to make an objective comparison of lag with and without the change. I suspect that this isn't going to help much with the intended goal of improving performance.

I mean I understand reducing the number of cars, kinda like reducing a fraction.. but who's to say! I don't however understand what the (#Cars) means??? I'm having a difficult time finding polite answers to the questions. <deep breath> Okay, start again. No sarcasim this time. I'm fairly certain that columns in popcycle.dat that are marked with a column header of #Cars contain values that control the number of cars that will spawn. I don't want you to edit anything, and I've never tried this so I'm not sure what will happen. If you wanted to change the number of cars that spawn then changing the numbers in the #Cars column is worth a shot. Your result may be complicated by these factors: The row that you edit, and the game hour during the test. The section you edit, and the weekday during the test. Which popcycle group you edit, and the zone type CJ is in during the test.
dxk
@Orion: You'll be better of just give a changed file.(If that is not illegal as it is filesharing.)
