Start watching all the new videos on the internet. Put coffee on, make morning bottle for daughter. Look at clock, not midnight yet... Change a diaper, pop in the bottle. Look at clock, not midnight yet... Sit, enjoy first cup and ciggy outside, ensure daughter is safely chillin within view. Look at clock, not midnight yet... Browse the forums, Kotaku, Lifehacker, io9, and the Consumerist. Look at clock, not midnight yet... Shower for me, bath for her, dress and go outside to meet up with other Navy "wives". Look at watch, not midnight yet... Go out for lunch, probably Waffle House, for carb loading. Look at clock, not midnight yet... Come home, lay her down, play some Rock Band or San An. Look at clock, not midnight yet... Start cooking dinner, probably chicken, rice and peas. Look at clock, not midnight yet... Immediately after dinner, (usually 6:30) Lay her back down, because she's coming with me. Look at clock, not midnight yet... Sit, patiently, again internet and video games for sanity. Look at clock... 10PM, 1030, 11... Time to go! Get her up gently, place in car seat. Walk around ensuring I have everything. Keys, smokes, preorder ticket license, drink, 2 bottles, 2 diapers, wipes, cream. Ensure pot is locked away for now. Look at clock, not midnight yet... 11:30 Walk out of apartment. Lock the doors. Walk slowly out to vehicle. Slowly lock-in car seat. Get in car, put on Zep, Stairway for her to fall back asleep to. 10 minutes pass, song fades as we park, I see the line. 11:40. I get out of the car and stand by her window, light a cig, ensure her safety, warm etc. 11:45... BS with some other gamers, 11:46, 11:47, etc. etc. Finally, the boxes come out... 4 lines. 360RE, 360SE, PS3RE, PS3SE. I choose my line, patience... patience, wait for it... wait for it... GRAB THE MOTHERf*ckING GAME LIKE IT'S MY f*ckING LIFE SUPPORT. Bolt out to the car, daughter screams as I chuck her in the back seat, ensuring safety as I lock her in. Pop in the last bottle. Jump in the driver's seat. Start the car. Drive, 5 seconds later pull up and park, haphazardly. Grab baby, game, run inside. Gently place new box on couch. Run back to her room, remove her from car seat lay her down, explain what is going on, change diaper, make another bottle, give it to her. I love you and goodnight. Back out to the living room. Turn on my console. No game yet. SE CD for a sound test, as it plays, I get ready, soda pop, munchies, air neutralizing spray, ashtray, pillows, check. I look at my goods, lock box, place pot and blunts in for now. Look through art book. Manual, Map. It's time. Things will now be different... Leave the house at 11pm and get to game for 12AM. Buy 3 days worth of snacks from tesco 24hr on the way back home. Get home, run to the 360 and place the holy disk into the drive. adamrosie86 Posted April 14, 2008 Share Posted April 14, 2008 wake up on the 28th at like 11:30, since no work and exams are done, call ebgames like 10 million times to find out about midnight release. go out to grocery store and prepare for what seems to be a natural disaster (water, food, batteries for controller, door look for room, lcd cleaner, and compressed air can for cleaning xbox). wait until 6 and go down to ebgames and wait if it's being released early. if not go home, sleep till 9, ebgames at 10, gta4 until im 30. lol! RONIN1191 Posted April 14, 2008 Share Posted April 14, 2008 Ahhh...on April 29, I will awake at the usual time of 6:30am, maybe get some early mornin nookie, hit the shower, get dressed, take the wife to the subway so she can go to work, and then drive in. The entire time I'll be thinking of GTA IV...what'll it be like? What can I do differently than I've always done? I'll report in to work like any other day; come lunchtime, I'll run over to EBG and pick up my collector's edition and just...run my hands over it for a while on the drive back to the job. Do I bring it up with me or do I leave it in the car? Hmmm...I'm thinking it might be safest in the trunk...but I have to have the manual. Get the manual. So, headed back to the office and I decide to detour to the crappers...might as well get a grip on LC whilst I'm comfortably pinchin loaves into the municipal water system; try not to LOL at some funny tidbit in said manual (you gotta love R*, they make you WANT to read it), finish my business and carry on. TRY not to visit the forums (altho I may anyway since I won't be able to play immediately), reread the manual in case I missed something and try to get some work done. Then its the morning ritual in reverse; fight the traffic headed home (it always seems to take much longer to get home than to work), pick up the wife from the subway, get in house, make small talk, eat dinner, watch a few tv shows with the wife and then off to bed she goes. Now the true fun begins; up until this point the game has not yet left its box. I'll just grab the bottle of Johnnie Walker Black (no point in pouring individual shots as that'd require too much running back and forth between the gameroom and kitchen) and a glass, some snacks, use the bathroom so I won't have to for at least the next 4 hours...pour the first of perhaps many successive shots, just to take the edge off and relax. Not yet hungry, so the snacks can wait. I'm sure I'll stare at the game itself for a moment or two, minor shell shock as its now finally about to happen- turn the ringers down on the phones, turn the cell off, shut the door and power up the 360- praying all the while that I don't get the RROD (if I do you ALL will know it lol) - insert disk and prepare to be blown away. The opening credits roll, I hear the music start up...in retrospect, that intro music is to me what Pavlov's whistle was to his dogs- soon as I hear any GTA opening tune my heart rate revs up- this instance is no different. After the game loads...well, I don't know what'll happen next. Whatever it is, though, I'm sure I'll be TOO PLEASED. I cannot wait. We have what...15 days? GEEZ. I'm just glad that I'm 'telecommuting' on 4/30...doubt I'll get much actual work done, but there you have it. For those who have that ability- is it not a Godsend? Exterkate Posted April 14, 2008 Share Posted April 14, 2008 28th 6pm- Leave work 6:05- Arrive at shops and purchase snacks and drinks 6:20- Get home 6:30pm- Call EB games to get midnight release details again. 7pm- Drive to friends place and play COD4 11pm- Leave friends house and drive to EB. 11:45pm- waiting in EB games line 29th 12:15am- Leave EB with game in hand 12:20am- Get home, insert disk and play whilst snacking. 3am- Get to bed. 8am- Wake up and get showered and head over to same mates place. shunsuke Posted April 14, 2008 Share Posted April 14, 2008 i wake up 9 am, walk out of my room and see the parcel...i wish i could open it and play what i know is inside but i cant coz its not my game, it is my brothers so i sit there infront of the t.v. with the ps3 controller in my hand, rocking myself and muttering.2 pm finally my brother gets out of bed and takes the parcel in his room locking the door. 4 pm my brother finally gets out of bed he plays and i sit there wathing for a while still rocking myself. 8 pm finally hes bored of playing computer games so he tells me to go stand outside the room he calls me back in and i ask ' where is gta4?' he replies 'in my safe box and your not getting the keys!' im too upset to talk so i go have a sh*t and think how im gonna bust the box... i do it the gta way so i go in my room and load my airsoft gun and shoot my brother till he gives me the keys! yes the game is mine i finally play it and... the fagg*t switched the discs, this is gta3, i play it anyway because i knew i wouldnt be able to ply the game that week older brothers are sooooo gay! Chadg Posted April 14, 2008 Share Posted April 14, 2008 heres what i will be doing 6:00AM - get up, get ready for school 7:00AM - take bus to school 8:15AM - school starts, probably gonna have a pile of crap to do on that day. 1:50PM - school gets out, have my grandpa pick me up and get GTAIV 2:00 - 3:00PM - play the game 3:00 - 5:30PM - job then after dinner, at around 7PM, play that game all night. ReevusGTA Posted April 14, 2008 Share Posted April 14, 2008 Wake up at 8.00am Its a college day, at first this crushes my soul, but then I realise f*ck its a tuesday I dont have to be in until 11.30, so I bop downstairs grab the parcel, realise I have forgrot to put any clothes on, but who cares. I put the kettle on and make myself some toast, or eat some cold pizza. SPRINT upstairs whack the game in my ps3, and commence play until 11.00 which is when I have to get ready for college.
