I don't like Mafia II's dreary 40's art style, and I've got a feeling it won't hold a candle to GTA in terms of scope and ambition. But I haven't played the game, so I can't say anything for sure. Vito is really surprised, because he let no one know that he is arrivingm but Joe tells him that he has his own sources and invite Vito for a city ride in suspiciously new and expensive looking car . . . BlackMamba47 Posted April 14, 2008 Share Posted April 14, 2008 People seem to forget that PC will most likely always have the graphical edge over a console, simply because the Gfx technology is always improving (both consoles are using GPUs that are now 2 generations behind technically), and unless something changes in the way consoles are handled in the future, we wont be able to consistently update our graphics in a console like we can in a PC. That being said, yes, Mafia 2's graphics do look more detailed, but the city will probably be smaller and have less going on (consider the time period here). And I just find it so funny that people bring up the competition between GTAIV and Mafia 2, considering that Mafia wont be out until next year, both are being published by the same company, the time periods are drastically different, and one game is in its unpteenth iteration while the other is putting out its sophmore album so to speak. nlitement Posted April 14, 2008 Share Posted April 14, 2008 I don't seriously see what "competition" this game has. It's like comparing Splinter Cell to MGS. You don't choose one over another. They're rather different, and both are awesome. Mafia's what you get when you create a realistic GTA, and it's a nice break from the regular GTA formula now and then. I'll definitely be getting both. Mafia is definitely a best game for me (it's hard to really tell which of the better games are better, so yeah, I just say that GTA, Mafia, Half-Life, etc. are the best).
