horrible idea. it would waste time, i dont want to get fuel, i want to drive. some things arent meant to be realistic in videogames, cuz then it crosses the line of being too real and people think, why buy it if its too close to real life

If they put it in, you best believe there'll be some fun involved; but like they said, it isn't a fun thing to begin with. There is some evidence that fuel will be in gta iv like the pumps blowing up in on of the trailers and im proberly the only person to notice this but if you look at the screen shot of an lcpd officer looking at nico through the window of his patrol car you can see what looks like a fuel indicater with a f and e thats what it looks like to me (check it out for your self) ofcourse this could just be for realistic dashbord features or it could be a little hint from r* that there will be fuel.

Having to fill your car up with gasoline would be a rather stupid idea. I think many people play these games because they resemble real life, but still show that the world on the tv is fake. Having to fill up your car would be stupid. I want to have fun, not play real life in a virtual world. If I wanted realism, I would turn off the tv and get a breath of the air outside my house. There is a line when games stop being games and become life simulators. Filling a gas tank or some other mundane task such as that would be tedious and just not fun. If I wanted to fill my car full of gas, I would go surprise myself at the filling station by gawking at the prices. But wait! I could make a game out of filing up my car! You see, there's a difference in fun-realism and life-realism.

I don't think there will ever be a fuel indicator in a GTA game. One person said that refueling would be similar to eating...Which is true. But the only reason eating is still in is because it's a more realistic way to restore health, and it's a good part of the relationship system as it'd give you more reason to go out and eat with someone other than 'Hey, if I max out his friendship, he'll give me better guns'

 

What does having gas in the cars add for a GTA game?Having to go back to the station every so often to refuel?And then, you drive out of the station, get into a crash, and flip your car.You just wasted 20-100 dollars. Honestly, I can see the fuel thing maybe being implemented in a game where your car is more permanent, but in a game where cars are borderline-expendable, having to refuel each and every car you come across would become expensive and tedious. It's almost as bad as modding a car in GTA; you spend all that money modding the thing, but never take it out of the garage (If it even makes it back to the garage, that is) because you know you're gonna flip it or it's gonna get busted to sh*t. At least car modding has a novelty 'Oooo' and 'Aaaah' factor, and is optional.

Well, not necessarily, they have said that becoming a millionaire is not the focus of this GTA. Also, in the beginning, having to juggle food, gas, weapons, body armor...it all adds up when you're poor. Even then, it's not just because of the money, it's also the fun factor. For some such as yourself, the added realism of a gas pump is fun, but to more casual players and I'd say a good majority of the hardcore ones, a perpetual car chase > stopping in the middle of a car chase not to steal another car or have a last stand with the cops but stopping to get gas.
