BioSphere
I was reading previews of the older GTA's when I noticed that alot of the info being revealed were nothing but falsities. Why is this? Is it outright lies from Rockstar, which I doubt, or is it just like that game you played as a kid where you had to whisper a word in someones ear and they'd whisper it to another person, and it'd continue like that until it was a completely different word than when it started. For instance; - What you can steal and carry from home robberies depends on your physical fitness and strength you've accumulated in the gym. - When selling stolen goods to the fence, you can negotiate the price.(Unsure about this one.) - You can jack the tram in San Fierro. - You can talk to pedestrians with dialouge boxes ala RPG game. - There does not seem to be a physical limit as to how high you can fly. - CJ's mobile will help you get back on track if you get lost. - There is a motel at the top of Mount Chilliad." (The same goes for GTA3 and Vice City previews.) These are all bullet points from the same preview. And that got me thinking: How much of what we know from GTA IV previews will actually be in there? Discuss. Source well... you could talk to the peds.. but just not all of them. someone like a girl walks past you, and she says something to you while she walks past or asks a question, you push left or right on the dpad and he speaks negatively or positively Yeah, but that doesn't really qualify as "dialogue boxes ala RPG game". yea... i know but.. maybe the reviewer was a little bit wrong when he wrote it. Maybe thats what r* meant when they said you could talk to peds.
.Up&Coming.
I remember reading about the beta. You could ride the tram in San Fierro in the beta. But everything else is complete bull.
mac915
Most, if not all, of that false info comes not from R*, but from magazines and websites who get early previews of the game. If anything is taken out, unless they ask about it, they won't know so the info doesn't change. And like others said, some things just don't work in the final product. So, I wouldn't call it wrong, just misinformed. As for what could be taken out, seeing as how we don't have a lot of info anyway, it's hard to say. Source It's exactly like that game you played as a kid that you're talking about. Game Magazines and websites tend to take a lot of liberties when it comes to previewing games. I really really hate to bring up an old and dead subject, but it proves my point. Some game website said that there were no planes presumably because of 9/11. The key word here is "presumably". Now, they made that assumption, and 3,000 kiddies all got the idea that it was fact. When the truth about it all came straight from Dan Houser saying there were no planes because it's one city and pointless. People who preview games make way too many assumptions, then next thing you know it's all "fact".
