nikopol
hi a little off topic but not really i was thinking of contacting microsoft to recomend that on there next update thay include age brackets so that people of the same age can play together online. So it would be something like this (13-18) (18-25) (25-30) and so on. I m 20 yrs old and i would like to play or talk with people my age not 13 yr old kids who scream and act up im sure thay would like to play with people their own age as well. it could be an option like when you pick wich language you prefer people to speak when looking for a match its not always correct but its close just wanted your thoughts on this im not trying to stop any body playing the game i don't care if you are under age if you want play it be my guest im just suggesting loose guidelines of age for multiplayer is it a good idea or no SALUTE Edited April 13, 2008 by nikopol
roofy85
not a bad idea but i like mine better. if the output from the headset microphone is higher than a certain decibel range then your booted from the game. that would keep the little kids out of the game entirely and also the people that blare music or scream into their mic for no reason. Anyone that is underage should be reported by other users and a team of hard bastards should be dispatched to kick the f*ck out of the kid and their irresponsible parents. nikopol
its not to stop them playing but just a rough guidline to the age of the people you are playing with like in PGR when you can select wich country the players you want to join are in if you pick japan its more chance you will play with japanese people Edited April 13, 2008 by nikopol

Razli
Oh noes. Or they should just implement the "Mute" feature which automatically goes on when A) Loud music or Screaming. B)Really High Pitched sounds. I'm 15, nearly 16 and It wouldnt stop me playing it. I don't have a high pitched voice, and people commonly think I sound like a 20 year old. But whatever floats your boat. I'll play against anyone.

As for the family settings, you can't play online with a kiddy account if the game is rated M, i know that for fact, my 17 yo brother had to create a new account to play Gears online, even if the family settings were set off

RenegadeJ06
i welcome this idea, but it will never get done, i mean they still havent figured out that quite a few people want team pchat, would be a good feature IMO
Jordash
That's never worked like that for my XBox, I play Gears online all the time and I'm on a childs account? There's no way they can stop any account from playing it because of the fact that somebody in the family may want to play it, without making a new account. If they did stop this, then Microsoft would get a lot of complaints.

Jordash
Lol, they can't ban anyone for playing an underage game. It's illegal for an underage person to go into the shop and buy the game. It's not illegal to play it.

SerenUnderdog
i thought so too, especially west europe.... Fact is i tried to get around it with all my might, cause i had offered my bro a full year of Live for his birthday, he was playing FIFA a lot and all was well, but when he tried playing gears online, thae game wouldn't let him, bringing a screen saying that "you have to be 18 or higher to play this game online" i even called M$ to tell them that the account was now used by a 18+ user, but they refused to change it and i had to cancel the year membership on that account, create a new one, and redeem the code M$ gave me for the remaining months of the membership
Razli
Is it just me or lately have the "Older" players begun to sound elitist? I know its an 18 and people underage shouldnt be, but a)Rules are always broken and b)Age ratings really don't stop anyone anymore. I also agree that anyone that hasnt dropped their balls shouldnt be able to have a head set. But Stop saying all younger players are High pitched people. Too Stereotypical. Jordash
Nothing will happen about kids playing it because of two things: 1. It's happened in Gears of War, and people complained but nothing happened. 2. Because it's not illegal for them to play it.
CasualJoe
How about muting them instead of getting lazy, i am 17. I have a rather high pitched voice, its not something that's up to me to change, just mute the annoying ones and play the game.
nikopol
are you guys crazy im not trying to stop younger players from playing this game you have every right as i do but some loose guidelines like the ones for language but for age would be kinda cool im not saying you shouldn't play at all i used to be 13 and i played mature games but thats not the point that im pushing

fishermanGTA
The problem here is that people under 18 cannot play the game. Therefore it could not be officially enforced, and I don't think people who play the game care enough to censor it themself's by making 18+ only games themselfs. Sir Baralot
This is a terrible idea for a simple reason: I'm nearly 18, and most of my friends have turned 18 already. It would be unfair that some of my best friends would be put into a completely different bracket to me.
