Aus_Karlos
Hey guys ive played all the GTA series ever since the first GTA came out... Ive had SA fora while but ive only just got back into it. I have a killer PC, ive Maxed out the Draw Distance with that mod 10X draw, but i would like to know is there a way of increasing the LOD distance. Its just that walking down the street the cars are just blocks in the distance until there like a street away. I want to max out that aswell. To give you a perspective of my PC it can play Crysis on Very High with 40fps constant.
Girish
What does LOD stand for? And also, if you've maxed out the in-game draw distance and are using the 10x mod too, there's nothing more you can do that will affect the draw distance any further. Aus_Karlos
LOD stands for Level of Detail. LOD is the level of detail you can see in each render stage. Eg. Background buildings in the city will use Low-Res Textures and poly. But when your up close they use High-Res textures and high poly count. Im looking for a way to tweak it so the buildings, cars, and people are all using high res at a further distance. This would make the 10X draw distance much more affective as when i can see the city from a distance a way some buildings wont appear until im closer. Im also looking for a way to increase the games Object render distance, like vegetation, they just pop out of no where even when im walking, i would like to increase it so that the vegetation appears in the horizon. iLusion
i think in the effects.fxp file there is a LOD start/end distance. Open that with notepad and go down the bottom. fiddle around with those two settings until you get one you like
Aus_Karlos
Thanks for that but there are like 100 different LOD settings in this fxp file are you sure that the bottom LOD controls overall detail.
