IPL line then what next?

Iv got the newest version of xmens IPL helper but where do i put the line i opened the IPL file but it only listed roads and buildings do i just add it or is something else needed?

Close the default file and do not save the changes. While you are at it I recommend making a backup of the entire maps folder before things get scrambled. Start a new file for new additions to the game, and only edit the default files when necessary.

 

Xmen's IPL Helper seems fairly straight forward. Please help me understand where people are getting stuck. This is a specific example, other choices may also work.

 

Goal: Create a new pickup in a new game - for easy testing, a Jetpack at the game start in Jefferson

 

Start a new game, run up the stairs to the north, and take coordinate readings with Cords Compass, SACC, etc.

 

X = 2243.63

Y = -1256.51

Z = 25.44 + 0.5 so it's easy to see = 25.94

 

Open IPL Helper

Load the Weapon Placer tool

Enter the coordinates

Select Jetpack

Optionally enter a comment to describe the pickup and location

Click Add Line

Close the Weapon Placer Tool

 

The Untitled.ipl* tab should include:

pick54, 2243.63, -1256.51, 25.94 //Jefferson Jetpackend

 

 

Click File, Save As

 

Browse to: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\data\

Create a new folder named: IPL

Save your file as C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\data\IPL\pick.ipl

 

Make a backup copy of C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\data\gta.dat

Open C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\data\gta.dat with a text editor.

Change the end of the file so it looks like this:

 

IPL DATA\MAPS\audiozon.ipl# CustomIPL DATA\IPL\pick.ipl##  Interiors#SPLASH loadsc4

 

 

Start a new game and look for the jetpack above the fence.

 

Try the same thing again. Start a new ipl file. This time add an NRG to the alley, save it in cars.ipl, and add the correct reference line in gta.dat.

 

X, Y, Z, Angle = 2243.43, -1258.12, 23.95, 270.0

 

If you get this working please let me know where you got stuck before.

Look again. Poke more buttons or something. Or perhaps consider another project. Downloading a program from a free file host is much less complex than modifying IPL files. Perhaps another project would be more productive.

joelzaar, i know filefront.com sucks everytime when we download...i got back a site which i used about 2 years ago xD

i'll upload there beta 4 when it will release, currently you can download from rapidshare, just click on free, wait for some secs, enter the text appear in picture and you get the file
