DeeperRed Posted April 13, 2008 Author Share Posted April 13, 2008 I work at blockbuster, anyone gets caught giving copies to customers before the street date they loose their job, the computer won't even let it happen so idk how hes going to sell it to you. He said he was going to give me an SE copy and I would pay for it there and then! After that he will right my name of and scan the intem of the 29th. He said hopefully nobody will notcie one copy, I went down to rent Dark Sector today and he was there and he said that there could be majory issue with sortages because with all major game retails. Since GAME owns Blockbuster and Gamestation this could be a problem for people who haven't preordered. He said this has got more preorders then anyother game in this store, including Halo 3! twistedrazzor Posted April 13, 2008 Share Posted April 13, 2008 i have a local small game retailer and as soon as he gets in the game in the back door it goes out the front door, so far ive had fifa 08 and splintercell double agent 4 days early but he doesnt recon he will get gta in any earlier than maybe 2 days or 1 day as rockstar are a bit tight, but he is gonna ring me as if i was a pre-order to lemmie know when he has it in so i can pop down there and grab it. i was gonna post a few youtube video's to answer any questions anybody has but i think people will riot, steal the game a week early and there will be many many video's early anyway. The game's coming out on a Tuesday, so to guarantee delivery on the release date, they'll have to send it out on Saturday 26th. In theory, I could get it Monday at the earliest. It's happened before! I think people hoping to get an early copy a week before the game is due out is setting themselves up for disappointment if you ask me. Hell I will be delighted if my Playstation 3 (Special Edition) of the game arrives on actual time on April 29th thats good enough for me . Also I don't know about regular shops (stores whatever) but I would think online retailers like Amazon, HMV, GAME etc will get copies of Grand Theft Auto IV at the begining of the week starting 21st April, the week before Grand Theft Auto IV releases as they need to send out the pre-orders enough time in advance in order for customers to receive their copy of the game on the release date.
