ShouldKnowBetter Posted April 11, 2008 Share Posted April 11, 2008 I can only upload some truly-shoddy phone snaps of the pics, but here's the text concerning the radio: "ShortList can exclusively reveal that the cars of GTA IV blare out our new favourite radio station 'ELECTRO-CHOC', which spins the likes of LCD Soundsystem and Simian Mobile Disco." At first I was thinking the LCD track might be their 'New York I love you' one, but considering the station name, prob not (and also that the city's "not Manhattan, honest', as one of the pics puts it). Guess it'll be more like 'Time to Get Away' (or even 'North American Scum' ) for them, and maybe 'We Are Your Friends' for Simian. All cool with me ---SHODDY IMAGES---CLICK FOR BIGGER--- Text reads: 'The Uzi's good, but reach for the sniper rifle and you can take out the pilot' The red dot claims: 'WORLD EXCLUSIVE PICTURES' (and they look it to me - sorry again for cr*p quality ) Text on the other images is standard blurb. 'the water effects are a thing of beauty' great shot (you'll have to trust me ) The car looks like some kind of big-bonneted flat-pack jeep oddity (it's heading to right). No idea on gun. I would consider the LCD soundsytem not electronic music but more of a rock/indie/punk band. i hope this station isnt the purest form of techno/electronic/trance music in a station. This seems more like off color of techno but whatever, i guess trance music is too long for quick action in video games. I just hope they stay away from the poppie electro rock music LCD are pretty varied, and it looks like the track's gonna be something from the more 'electropop' end of their scale for this station. San Andreas had a 'trancey' station tho, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's a less 'glam' electro option out there too PS, if you wanna hear something a bit less 'indie rock' by LCD and more IDM-beaty try some of their 45:33 'workout' track (the middle bit mainly - it's long - don't think GTA'll be using that one ) Edited April 11, 2008 by ShouldKnowBetter Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thats interesting, the electrochoc station on the website says its dance music (plus the stuff it samples sonds like dance music and not more formal ambient/downtemp stuff) Well, it says 'modern electro and dance rock', & the DJ pronounces it 'Electro Shock', so i doubt there'll be any Air-style stuff in there. Probably just more of the crunched-up disco glitch they've got on the official site. (I'm just making up my own genres now ) The electro-downbeat might be accommodated elsewhere. They've got the old-school 30s station already for slowing the heart rate, but I'm sure there'll be more like that. And at the end of the day, sounds like we should be able to make our own 'stations' anyway.
