Yeah, okay - done.

 

Chain Game for PS2 Beta 2 now available at GTAGarage.

 

 

Or rather, the files will be available as soon as they are approved.

 

Beta 2 is the same as previous versions, except files have been renamed and the unmodified save has been removed.

 

The title post has been updated with more current information.

The Game Game for PS2 files are now online at GTAGarage. Please let me know if there are any problems with the PAL versions. I was able to test both of the NTSC versions and they worked fine on my system. Also, I've never had any verification that the PAL v2 save works at all; so if anyone tries it out, please post the results.

The Chain Game for PS2 save files have been updated with some of the features added by rubregg in round 37.

 

Updated Saves - Beta 3

  • New map specific to CG4PS2 - much more accurate
  • Garage Block patched to include rubregg's Mutant Bikes
  • Added Bayside Armory - house farthest to the southwest (restart game if it isn't working)
  • Moved Bayside Seasparrow near the Armory
  • Added ramp for busting through the Sprunk Billboard in Jefferson (Reuniting the Families)
  • Updated unique jumps to include the Sprunk Billboard
  • Updated zones to include the Mafia and Triad gangs that rubregg added in Las Venturas
  • All car generators included in the save are set to "force spawn" - improves spawn reliability
  • Added bribes, grenades, satchels, katana, and chainsaw to the armories
  • Added unused gifts to the dance clubs
  • Added Glenster's Andromada at the Airstrip
  • All parachutes are set to fast-respawn
  • Added radar blips for girlfriend Pay'n'Sprays, Impound Garages, and spheres for the bomb garages
  • Configured Pay'n'Sprays that close during missions to lose the blips shortly before they close
  • Import/Export cars should remain active after exporting (are enabled at the beginning)
  • Prevented several vehicles from being hidden after completing flight school
  • Moved a few added vehicles to prevent spawn conflicts due to the change listed above
  • RC Cam (drivable flowerpot) enabled in version 2 saves
  • RC Cams crash the v1 saves so Mt Bikes are placed where RC Cams are listed on the map
  • *Random* Car in LV is now a Bullet

hi everybody

 

this is my first post and i want to show you my problem

 

when i was playing gta sa with chaingame B3 DB ps2 i passed some missions in LS , then when i passed the (ceasar vialpando) mission i couldnt see the blip of CR (ceasar) missions on the map and i couldnt access the (high stakes,low rider) mission (i got the name from a normal save) . i passed OG and ryder missions .

 

so please, can you help me with this problem sad.gifsad.gif ?

 

i appreciate your hard work and your great save and your coopration.

 

note : i am using gta sa NTSC v1 (the originial one) .

DB is a Debug save. Many features have been unlocked early for testing and review. This save is not intended for game play. There is a very good chance that glitches will occur if this save is used to progress the story.

 

 

 

* The debug version has cities unlocked, CJ can buy properties, stats are boosted a bit, extra cash; allows testing of features in SF and LV, but will probably glitch during the later missions. All vehicles are displayed.

 

I did everything I could to warn players that the Debug save would cause problems like this. One of the threads that controls mission flow shuts down when the city unlocked stat is altered like it is in the debug save. Sorry, this save was only intended for players to check out features in restricted territory before actually playing the game using the normal save.

you said that the updated chain game has some new territories in las venturas for the mafia and the triads smile.gifsmile.gif , but when i went there i found territories for ballas (purple) and vagos (yellow) only , not the mafia (gray) and the triads (red) sad.gifsad.gif.

 

(i got the colours from the terretories glitch for AR MAX )

 

so where are the new terretories or it's just ballas and vagos ? sad.gifsad.gif

I've never seen color changes in Mafia or Triad turfs.

Rubregg did all the work and testing on these zone changes. I pulled the zone above out of his coding notes. I've checked to see that the Mafia and Triads do indeed spawn in some of these zones, but never checked to assure everything worked correctly before copying the data set into the PS2 saves. I had a lot of trouble getting the proper peds and cars to spawn when I added Ballas and Vagos to some turfs, but apparently the addition of Triads or Mafia doesn't cause the same problems, or I just haven't noticed the difference. If you noticed anything out of the ordinary (low ped and car density, or a limited set of peds and cars) please let me know.

i didnt see anything ordinary about peds and cars , but there were some drug dealers .also when I attack some triad men (3 men to start a war) or mafia men (also 3) they didnt start a gang's war or they just run away.

 

Also you said that the mafia and the triads have their own terretories in LV , so why when I attack them in their terretories they dont start a war ?

Gang wars can only be started with Ballas and Vagos. It's just like the normal game; gang wars can't be started with the Da Nang Boys or Azteca. The Mafia and Triads in LV were added as... decoration. Normally there are no Mafia gang members anywhere so rubregg's addition added a bit of flavor to the map. And it only make sense to have a few of Woozie's Triads friends hanging around areas near the 4 Dragon casino.

 

I thought there were notes about the added gangs in the detailed description, but it appears I was mistaken. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'll have to make some changes to prevent further misunderstanding.

 

The drug dealers are associated with some of the gangs, but I also tweaked several zones to included drug dealers. You'll find them in some of the smaller towns as well. The drug dealer usually seen in SF is the rare Biker dealer. He usually isn't seen except possibly immediately after starting a new game. The dealer in LV and the smaller towns is usually the Hispanic dealer. I've never seen him without tweaking the zone settings.

hello.

 

I really want this save, and I have all the nessisary tools, but the save won't show up in the save menu on AR MAX. The file was left the same way as it was when I downloaded it (the V2 version of the file), the file name is the same, etc. But it won't appear in the save menu. Am I doing anything wrong here?

 

EDIT: I am using an AR MAX PS2 Memory Manager which came with my PSP AR MAX Kit...The PSP serves as the "Max Drive"

GTAGarage won't accept files with the .max file extension so the file was compressed using the .zip format. Extract the .max file from the .zip archive using Windows Explorer and your AR-Max utility should recognize it.

heres what I did

 

1. I downloaded the file named "CG PS2v2 Beta 3 NTSC"

 

2. Inside..theres a file (which is in the max format) called "CG4PS2v2b3-NTSC.max"

 

3. From there..I transfered the file to the root of my PSP (which as I said earlier...serves as the Max Drive)

 

4. I connect the PSP to the PS2. While it boots...I leave the PSP in USB Mode

 

5. Once AR MAX starts...the PSP is found and is shown as a PSP Icon in the memory select

 

6. A minute or so later...AR MAX crashes (this happenes every time I boot it for the first time, but since I've used other game saves with it, this doesn't cause any problems....as in..as soon as I reboot it, the game save loads in the menu and im able to do whatever I please with it)

 

7. Once I reboot it...nothing shows in the PSP's Memory menu (this only applies to the chain game save, any other save appears normally)

 

 

so..here are my questions...

 

A: Do I need to rename the save file from "CG4PS2v2b3-NTSC.max" to something else?

 

B: Could it be possible that it was a faulty download?

 

C: Could it be possible that its the PS2 or PSP to blame?

I suppose you could try renaming the file to BASLUS-20946GTA50000.max, but I don't see why that would make any difference.

 

I'm not sure how your PSP utility is supposed to work. It sounds similar to the Max Drive utility I'm using with a USB device. When I first boot my AR-Max CD in the PS2 I get an "Action Replay MAX Home" screen. From there I select "Max Memory" and wait a while for the menu to load. I select "My devices" and choose the USB Device. After a short wait "& SanAndreas" appears in the device contents list. This archive needs to be uncrunched to the the memory card. It may be necessary to delete a San Andreas folder from the memory card prior to uncrunching.

 

Can you load other San Andreas save archives? GameFAQs has a few to choose from.

I can load a few of them...some will fail to transfer to the MC (I don't uncrush and send), and certain saves won't work with my SA Version. Like wise, certain saves will work without problems (other then AR MAX crashing the first time it loads, but that doesn't stop certain saves)

 

Also...I noticed that the saves that do work fine are named something like "gta_san_andreas_(letter).max

 

so thats what I tried....I renamed the chain game file to the specific name above, but that didnt help. I will try your suggestion

 

 

EDIT: I downloaded 3 copies of the chain game and renamed them as followed

 

1 remained the same name

 

2 was named your suggestion

 

3 was renamed based off a name from a GamesFAQ save

 

1 file appeared in the menu...I clicked to move it...however, an error occured involving the program reading the file

I've got no idea what the problem might be. The only thing I can think to suggest is to download PS2 Save Builder and try to move the save (*.b) to another folder or archive.

alright...im going to attempt to create a new archive and then transfer the files into this archive. If that doesn't work...I will use an archive that works on my PS2

 

EDIT: Mission Complete! I took the save data and placed it into another archive, popped it in, pulled the trigger and boom, it worked!

 

just one more question before I play away....

 

There are 2 save files that...when you go into Load Game appear...shouldn't there be a debug save also?

I'm glad that you got it working. I'm a bit confused about what the problem might be with my .max archive. If more problems are reported I'll look into replacing the game folder. Thanks for the update on your progress.

 

The save in slot 1 is the game play save. Slot 2 contains the debug save, and if you try to use it to progress the story you'll run into problems with missions not appearing late into the Los Santos mission strand. I used to include an original (mostly) unmodified save but it was removed from the recent editions.

ah...so the debug mode is sorta like a sandbox version of the original save file, I noticed that when playing the sandbox version, all unlockables were there.

 

I also loved your inclusion of the Andromona (I think I spelt it right), no more effortless attempts to get it by glitching.

 

btw, does the save contain the skycrane (the modified helicopter you use in one of the casino robbing missions) I know the non grapple version you can use, but is there one that has the grapple?

Yes. The version you have hasn't been available for download in a couple of years. The beta 2 saves that were available recently were the same as the files that you have, but the "original" unmodified save was removed, the custom save is in slot 1, and the debug save is in slot 2. The current version (beta 3) has several of the more modern (round 37+) CG features.

Didler Sachs is in the left of Los Santos. When you look at the map there is 'Rodeo Drive' a North/South street that is obviously Bowed. It's There.

Didler Sachs is in the usual place and IIRC, opens at the usual point during the story. However, all clothing is enable from the start of the game.

 

Yes, a 100% list should help unlock all of the vehicles. The same mission that usually unlock hidden vehicles will still unlock hidden vehicles, it's just a different set of hidden cars in this custom save. However, most checklists, FAQs, and walkthroughs aren't 100% accurate about when or how many vehicles are unlocked.
