EL BENSON
Good news, I could race through SA main story only in about 20 hours, sohere is to hoping it is longer than SA.
Sidewalk Killer
there was never any doubt in my mind that this would be a good game. the GTA guys are too good and understand games too well for this game to suck. however, i'm confused as to what 'the hype' is...so what exactly is 'hype' and what is it's purpose? is 'hype' anything more than each of our personal expectations? why should i care how much other people are excited about a particular game? why should my excitement about a game have any bearing at all on how excited you are about it? do people share and agree upon 'the hype' surrounding a game? how can a game live up to 'the hype' surrounding it? i guess i'm saying i don't give a damn about 'the hype'. i think it's meaningless. a game is either fun or it isn't. the amount of expectation and advertising around a game has no bearing on whether i enjoy the game or not. even if i've never heard of a game before i play it, it will be just as fun as if i had built up excitement before i played it. rant over. suorange
If you had to pick a favourite out of all the games in the series now which one would it be? GTA IV. By a country mile. It craps on all the others – even the mighty Vice City – from a height equivalent to the Statue of Happiness. Believe me, GTA IV is even better than the hype suggests! I dont no why you're so anti hype?! At the end of the day (As far as I can see) its only showing that people are buzzing bout the game and Rockstar are going to sell a crap loads . . rightly so, as so far from what I've seen its going to be stupidly impressive. thor1to3for5
All game writters should not be allowed to Sign up on the R* Social Club rankings of "first to beat the game" . They have an unfair advantage over the rest of the world.

GloRy
he says its better than GTA : Vice city, and lets use IGN as an example. they gave it a 9.7. I honestly believe this game will be 9.9 or even a 10. EDIT: ive just looked at san andreas score of 9.9 i believe IVwill be a 10. Does anyone know if any games have been rated 10 by IGN or any other website for that matter. won't happen IGN never rated any game a 10 well I don't think they did. I thinkthere gonna rate GTA IV a 9.6 or 9.8sh

OJsAlibi
For the record, I don't buy the claim that this guy was the first to complete Grand Theft Auto IV. As most should know, a strategy guide for the game is coming out. With that being the case, the editors of said strategy guide would (and they did for San Andreas) have to squat in Rockstar's headquarters for several weeks in order to beat the game and write up the strategy guide. GTA3Freak-2001
You know I would hate to have to play a game through as quickly as possible, you've got to soak up it up in your own time and enjoy it. I don't envy the guy at all, its great though the impression he gives and its probably great he had to blitz through it so as to not notice the little things and get carried away spoiling. The Killa
It craps on all the others – even the mighty Vice City Quite a statement there. Hopefully it turns out to be true considering VC was the best in the series IMO. Really looking forward to it now.

I have to agree with you, I could never play through a GTA game blitzkrieg style, you really have to go at your own pace to enjoy it. And as for the underlined portion : It's great for us that he sped through it , I agree , less for him to spoil. But terrible for him , as he more than likely missed a ton of little interesting things; which I guess is why he mentions that he will be playing it through again. Also, I have to agree with NonRetard - I SERIOUSLY doubt he is the first to complete the game, he's just the first to publicly announce it. GTA IV will be a good game whether it sells one copy or 100 million copies; whether i'm anticipating it or i've never heard of it before buying it. the question, Did it meet or exceed your expectations? is much more meaningful than Does it live up to the hype? and an even better question is, Is this game worth the precious time and money you'll spend on it? oh, great signature by the way

MrKlorox
I personally don't see why Vice City is reveled to be the best GTA of all time. San Andreas converted me from a casual GTA player (albeit since the 1997 GTA demo time limit was cracked) that could care less if a new GTA came out into a hardcore GTA player that argues with other GTA fanboys over stupid GTA sh*t all day. VC barely made me glance twice... and the second glance was solely because of the PCJ.

DeeperRed
Vice City was without adoubt the best one in the three. It had an awesome map, Awesome Story, Awesome feel!. SA story was really just a generic gangbanging film whereas Vice City had the whole scarface deal. It was a legendary game. Its why I have GTA:SAVC which gives you the features of GTA SA on a VC map.
