tragicdwarf
That's why I'm getting a PS3. Fanboys, ACTIVATE! You shouldn't never say that made me laugh!! Anyways thats a real bugger mate. Get your xbox sent back ASAP. From what other xbox users say about how long it takes you might be lucky enough to get it back in time.
inveni0
there is only one thing to do..........buy a ps3 Actually my PS3 bricked 2 weeks ago, picked up a 360 last friday. PS3 was outta warranty, XBOX 360 has got 3 years warranty, I was sold when I found that out. Yeah, but you have to ask yourself "WHY" would a company out to make a profit extend their warranty by two years? That's not something to do for PR...it's something you do to evade class action. Doggson
Yep today it happened. The dreaded red ring of death found its way on my 360. I was playing Call Of Duty a few days ago and during an online match it froze and my controller was vibrating constantly. Then I went to play Pro Evolution 08 and it freezes at the begining of one of the matches. Both times I switched it off and it seemed to work fine (with COD4) but with Pro Evo it crashed again. Now I get the 3 red lights when I turn it on. What can I do now?Am I totally goosed for GTA now? No chance they will get it back to me in time? 1-2 weeks and its back Take care of the console and it should be aight, mine is still working awesome (yes it will prolly die 1-2 day after gta release ofc) *sadface*
hughesie27
I actually cared for it reeli well. Never left and discs in the drive, kept it in a pretty ventalated area and never moved it. Guess it's jsut something that will happen to them all eventuall. Time bomb and ticking are the words springing to mind here.
Soton
I actually sent mine in for RRoD when I first got my 360. Has RRoD ever happened to anyone more than one time since they sent theirs in?
zengonzo
I think on average the entire process takes about three weeks. Mine was close to four. I was really frustrated, though, that the refurbished one they sent back to me ended up having loud fans in addition to a loud disc reader. Unfortunately, I think it's been a bit too long for me to make a fuss about it, but it really is putting me off of playing the thing a bit. Anyone had any experience with that? That's not something to do for PR...it's something you do to evade class action. If they did not continue to repair these consoles then their attach rate would decline sharply. People with a dead 360 would be increasingly less likely to invest in another one, instead possibly opting for a PS3. So it's most likely they did it to retain their share of the market. b4rtsimps0n
My 360 dvd drive just died on me..for the third time.. It just won't play games anymore, or it says the disc is damaged a few minutes after the game loads. So.. i bought a ps3, the gt5 prologue pack. But the graphics of the games really dissapoint me, maybe it's my tv or something, but the trailers look very sharp like they would on my 360, but the ingame graphics look far worse. I downloaded a lot of demos to see if it the graphics look bad in all games, and only the DMC4 demo looks slightly similar to the 360 version. I first bought a hdmi cable, but I thought that the cable caused the messed up graphics, so i bought a component cable. The image quality seems to be a bit better using that cable, but I'm still a bit dissapointed. GT5 prologue looks nothing like in the trailers, like there's not AA at all. So maybe it's just my tv or something, but the 360 games looked very good on it, so can anyone tell me what the problem is?

DjMiikkii
Wow thats bad seeing your gamerscore looks like you havnt had it for long you should get it back before GTA as the whole replacing process takes around 2-3 weeks, *waits for ps3 fans to say should of got ps3* wow that wasnt long was it, only took 1 minute for a PS3 fanboy to show his ugly face
Slamman
As a PS3 owner I could take the low road and say things like "told ya so" but my PS2s died in the middle of game play (SA for example, mostly) and I was straight pissed, but I never paid full price and I got them used, so they had a good life all in all. zengonzo
I can't claim to know anything about your setup, but ideally an HDMI should not look worse than a component cable - all things being digital. Are you watching trailers off of your PS3? If that's the case, then you would be seeing what the PS3 is outputting, and the connection would make no difference. I'd search for a PS3 optimization page and see if you can't make any changes to the display settings.

No offense but I always wanted to use the famous Happy Gilmore phrase; "Spoken like a True A$$hole" But, seriously....FUNNY to me Oh, and there is something wrong with your connections because without using HD connections mine looks good! I have the 730B Samsung, but no proper HDMI connection yet.

The games should look way better in any case, otherwise I just can't believe people say the ps3 has great graphics. Slamman
Actually my PS3 bricked 2 weeks ago, picked up a 360 last friday. That makes two of us. What exactly does BRICK out mean? I heard it on YT for the first time, but it doesn't seem to describe a fault. Typically if there is a DISC spinning and reading error, it relates to dirt on the optical pickup sled and lens or the motor (same as CD unit) has worn out prematurely. They tend to not adjust to the proper RPM or stop working altogether.

I think that some game developers are still learning to work with PS3 tech so its logical that some games will not look quite as good as their 360 counterparts. However, i think this is an issue that wont be around much longer.

But people say that has it's own issues as well. Both of mine are earliest models of PS2s. I still have them, all boxed up to ship...somewhere! haha The PS3 that iCoke has stopped spinning discs or something like that, comparable to the PS2 problem. Quite odd! People with a dead 360 would be increasingly less likely to invest in another one, instead possibly opting for a PS3. So it's most likely they did it to retain their share of the market. No matter how you look at it, we all know that the failure rate of the 360 is unacceptably high, and the PS3's is not. Spreaking stricitly in terms of hardware reliability there's no contest. It just has to be said in a politcally correct manner or else 360 fans will interpret it as bashing. Truth is, it's only bashing if it is done with a certain intent. But if you are just discussing it logically then it's not bashing. I have both consoles and neither has crapped out so far. Had the PS3 since July 07 and had the 360 since Sept 23, 2007 (two days before Halo 3 came out, even though Halo 3 wasn't the real reason why I got it). I do look at my 360, though, and wonder how many years it will be here before Microsoft replaces it. The PS3, though, I am sure will be here much longer. I say this because the PS3 has Blu-Ray, and Blu-Ray won the format war. With a DVD drive, the 360 has to be replaced soon so developers like Rockstar and Infinity Ward (who both have said disc space was an issue) can have the CHOICE of whether or not they want to compress this or that. Being forced to compress is not as good as having the choice.
