No, I think he means that you creare another img file and you call it from gta.dat.

No - I mean additional IMG archive, like another "gta3.IMG".

 

I've done it myself... After mine gta3 archive "melted" (because of its size), I've extracted all 16316 files to desktop and filtered all TXDs into separate folder.

Then I've created 2 new archives, gta3.IMG (this time without ANY textures) and TXD.IMG, featuring map & vehicle textures only.

 

To be honest, it was GTA3 who gave me this idea. Unlike any other GTA, III is the only one with separate texture archive smile.gif

No, no and I realy don't understand what your saying. If gta3.img will be imported with texture so many times till with wil have above 4GB, you gona see the game only in .Lods and nothing else. The normal texture will disappear. This is the limit that you can go far.

No, no and I realy don't understand what your saying. If gta3.img will be imported with texture so many times till with wil have above 4GB, you gona see the game only in .Lods and nothing else. The normal texture will disappear.

Only on slow PC configurations. My game with SRT3 Final, Project oblivion, ENBS, 90 CLEO mods and 300 custom-added (not replaced) vehicles is the solid proof of that.

-BLITZ- I'm talking about SA, not III. However it was III who gave me this idea...

I will say'it much clear.

 

If you are replacing to much, you know that your game will flash between lod and normal texture. Using SALA or StreamMemory it fix the game. So the game has a limit. Now if gta3.img has above 4GB you will see only .lod texture ( cars, planes, boats, water, peds don't have a problem ). Isn't flashing, just solid lod.texture and nothing else, this is the limit, like the example above. Now is better ?! Sad that I didn't made texture.

 

I realy don't understand much, if you can separate how you have told on SA, there is Marvelous, but doesn't matter, nobody can't go so high with gta3.img size, only if is working like me, testing textures and importing to many times.

Hope to work, why not. But I wondering that isn't matter if you still gona make'it in half. I'm not refering that lower it will rung without a problem or doesn't matter the zise of the gta3.img just the number 4 tounge.gif. Is a little hard to say in english but allways is best have positive effects. smile.gif If you allready passed 4gb, even arhived, still gona see only .lods, cuz you allready passed that 4gb limit. But if you arhived 3.5/3.7 will be no problem. But there's no difference making arhive cuz, the game runs the same, or does runs much better?! Just wining a little space in your drive. confused.gif

Actually... I've done the IMG splitting method before. Like you, I used to have a mega-modded SA with over 200 cars, boats and planes replaced, and a sh*tload of CLEO mods... the works. But then the sound started cutting out. I tracked this down to the amount of cars I had (most of them were 20k+ polies) and tried splitting the IMG into 2 halves. But that actually made it worse!

 

So no, IMG splitting only makes it even worse.

 

I ditched the idea of having an SA install like that because of a few reasons:

 

1. It was an absolute PIG to play. It was crashy as hell, and certain parts of the SA map would be "crash zones" - enter the boundary and watch as SA locks up and refuses to close.

 

2. The Stream Memory Fix didn't fix the sound bug.

 

3. It dropped my FPS like you wouldn't believe.

 

4. It slowed down the loading of objects to a crawl.

Well, I've been using it for some time and I didn't noticed any problems... Maybe few crashes now and then - but nothing serious.

hmm i thought the audio file which comes with the srt3 1.5 continue fixes the sound bug and the stream memory just fixes ur texture problem

is this supposed to be SRT3 problem or ENB?? cos ive nvr been to SAN FIERRO with these two mods

PS: the road textures arent flickerin...they are just white even if i turn ENB off..

Can someone upload SRT Final from Paroxum, but only with file (Not with the installer) cause i use Windows Seven, and even with an installer that doesn't work, so if someone can upload me those file to add on GTA3.img & GTA INT.img, it wouldd be great.

I have the same problem on XP

Not a Change.

1. Original files have around 600-700MB, I'm not uploading just for that, more than that, I'm not touching ParoXum version, isn't mine, of course that I'm continue this mod, but I'm not the owner of that version.

2. Second, when the mod will be finshed, this links will be removed. Only the files will have 2GB. I can't upload soo high, allready people are "screaming" at me cuz allready 1GB is to much and 600-700 isn't a big difference. So I will have 2 problems, instead of one, that I'm having now.

3. You want to much.

4. I'm sorry. You have to find a nother solution by your self.

 

People please don't quote everytime, every post. The writing is allready above, and everybody understand that allready, and is very clear to see confused.gif

Second, again: raise up your pats and don't worry, don't eat your nails, cuz will not be a problem. My gta3.img has allready, cars, bikes, etc-etc and the new textures included only 2,45GB. So only with SRt3 will have around 1.70-1.80GB or much less. smile.gif

So calm down guys, please. Nothing to worry. You will never past 3.0/3.5/4.0 GB. I just made a conclussion of that what I have seen. Is enough now. If, and only if this little problem will come, then we gona talk about this when is the right time.

 

nm69 for you the answer is that, SRt3 and ENB isn't the problem. That is from R*, from .col files ( maybe ), that the shadow and light haven't been put correctly. If you put the brithness at 0 from the options from the game, you will see the game black and you will see like in pictures, those streets, much higher brithness, lower that "bug" you will see. Or if you used d3d9.dll from Ghostwon Paradise, that makes the shadow much higher. So somehow, we can say that "bug" is just normal.

 

Again for you nm69. What does have to do streammeory with the sound files ?!.

Ok. Let just get this straight. ParoXum changed some audio files for some weapons, car-crash sound and horn sound, but seems that horn-car sound has the bugs that makes your game to lose the sfxsound and crash your game. I putted in my Srt3 version default/original sounds from the game, like a backup. So install and tell me if you gona have that problem again if I'm wrong about this.

Only the files will have 2GB.

OMG, two GB only the current version broke my gta3.img (i can open it only with alcy's img editor, ggmm crashes all the time, some textures got bugged and it is impossible to rebuild ie), with two Gb it will explode XD.

Well i have the same problem, my gta3.img is 3 giga i can't use any editors to view it, Alci's is the only working img editor for me

i had to uninstall SRT cause some random parts of the city really lagged, and cause the white trees too.

But i still cant use editors biggrin.gif

 

i also didn't like the retextured peds confused.gif nor the weapons it would be great for upcoming version to have installer options like install peds/weapons etc.

 

also a low res version would be great, not everything have to has a high res to look good.

If someone got it: Its very simple to fix that: just download Visual C++ 2005 Redistruable ( or something, this should be in newest games installers or tools ) and then should works icon14.gif

Patience, cuz I can't asnwer to you in a split-second. For that info read the front/first page. I'm will not write A4 page everytime for this question and give's much more info about the mod.

 

Mazda6 there will not be any new version. It will be Srt3 Final Version, of ParoXum version. When I donwload his version for first time I didn't know that isn't finished, because the name is Srt3 Final Version. I named my version, to understand the reason, and to understand what's going on with the project.
