# Srt3 Final By ParoXum is a automaticaly installer, so you just need to browse in the San Andreas Game Directory.

# Srt3 Final Continue 1.5 is a manualy installer, it is a installer but just make's a folder and install the files, resuming that you have to install everything manualy.

 

SRt3 Final by ParoXum is a 226mb RAR, with an MSI inside.

SRt3 Final Continue 1.5 is a 897mb MSI.

 

You didn't compress the other MSI? wow.gif Did you put the whole of the gta3.img into the installer? That's damn big for people without IDM.

BLITZ, can you try putting the MSI installer into a RAR file? 836 MB is a HUGE file, which can be reduced to less than half that using strong compression with WinRAR. I can't download it (8 hours, and 4GB internet limit).

No, it can't. The installed data is already over 1.3 GB when unpacked, and that's probably using the best compression supported by the Windows Installer system. Still, I can't see why a installer which does nothing but unpacking would be preferred to an archive -- except for the component selection?

I have tried to put the installer to a .rar file and gives me the same MB only 10-20MB difference between them. I'm sorry but for the moment my version will stay in the way his is ( Yes, is very annoying and I know ). When the mod will be 100% finished I will use the same program that ParoXum made his pack, more exactly I will write to him to make the pack cuz he know's better then me how to do'it. (only 256MB ParoXum version and is worth'it much better )

You could use this one. It's very simple to use, it has a wizard, specify the install folder and the files you need compressed (along with compression level) and everything will be compressed with 7zip which actually beats rar in most situations.

My situation will be finished afther Easter Day or possible 1/5 May 2009. The final version, will be much smaller and easer to install. ParoXum I will need your help with this.

only one question to you: are you changed all 'LOD' files also?

My version has changed some lods. Depends now what I will do and how much I can do. How I have said on the first page.

 

At the moment I will NOT make any .lods texture, because I remember what Knochen said about them. ( Making lods. at some time the game gona crash )

Like I said, this is extremely easy and you don't need any special help.

 

A good way of showing what you could gain from 7z compression would be to get the free 7zip app (http://www.7-zip.org) and compress your working dir with the textures using maximum compression. This way you'll see if anything can be gained. Typically LZMA compression on Ultra will reduce dds files size 2 to 3 times.

 

I wasn't suggesting you should change anything, I only offered a possible (simple) solution for when and if you decide to change something.

I don't have time even to open my PC, stick with how it is, isn't make you to die, and isn't the end of the world. "Easy" you will see when the mod is finished. I understood, my apologize, but for the moment it stay's like this, more than that, I have to walk to n³wton (depends when his online ) and upload it again. I'm not going back again for that. If a .dff doesn't have a texture that rock will supose to be white not invisible. That is not from me, that is from DATA files from maps/a bug possible to be from R*. In Country Side; one .txd has around 15-20 textures in it and covers all the Country, texturing that rock too, if you see that around that photo every rock and grass is textured; so supose that rock to be to allready textured, but seens that he's a bug from DATA/maps, I can't do anything with that. At least thanks for showing that "bug". I will see more what is whit that, but I'm sure that the asnwer I have allready answered above.

no bugs ...then i tried to reinstall SRT3 and waalaaah that tree disappeared again

Ok nm69. Seems that got something to do with dynamic.col. Maybe ParoXum missed something when he had done something. If you don't put that dynamic.col in your game possible that the tress or something else to look different or wired than how they should normal be. I real don't know what ParoXum had done. This is your choise now.

I have a tree problem too. Near Angel Pines I have thre trees that are white and look like they are made of triangles. Willtry to do a screenshot if you need it.

This is fix long time ago by me...this error apear like this. They have confused some .bmp pics in the .txd, and some of them are missing and they have write the names wrong too .... So here's for those who has this error and don't notice....the bug is in Angel Pine near the Mount Chiliad:

Hi. Great mod. But I have this f*cking problem I hate.

After I install Continue, on about 93% of rebuilding, it f*cks up and says something like "Can't write entrydata".

Any ideas?

If you gta3.img allready have been used with mods, cars, bikes, etc, means that's your problem. The SA game, need a clean gta3.img before Srt3 is installed.

Uk_john, this is not about the Hard-drive space from your PC. gta3.img will work rebuilded 3 time only if you want Srt3 in your game. At 4 times it gives you that error. Best is just to import and SAVE without rebuilding. But using SAVE option is not a good idea, cuz at some moment possible to crash your game. But I have using SAVE option on my other SA, that my testing the texture for SRt3, cuz I can't wait and rebuild so many times, and doesn't give any crashe's.

I think he forgot to free some space on his local drive while rebuildin his archive...i used to do it too..tounge.gif ....

its pretty annoying cos u gotta free twice the amount of the file gta3.img to rebuild it

Why would I forget to free some space on my C: Drive when I had no information like most mods that would say 'where do you want the install files folder to go? That just duplicates the files inn the TEMP folder so it can run from there? That is the same as a zip or rar, but as an exe i thought it would just installto my games folder, like most mods and most patches do, without needing to copy itself somewhere else to work from? So it wasn't about me 'forgetting' anything, it was about lack of information provided!

 

I have to reinstall my SRT3 Final 1.5 and am now getting an Error 1901 that it cannot read from the source installation database (whatever that is!) in C:\Windows\Installer\df738d.msi

 

Given there is only one site to download this 1gb file and it crawls along at 70k or so for 2 hours to download it, this is not a good thing to see! SO I don't know what or if anything has changed, because we don't get patches or anything, we just get another exe that is 700k bigger because Blitz has changed something.

 

So overall, while this is a good mod when it works, it has far too much hassle surrounding it. So with this final problem, I give up on this mod. So good luck everybody geting this working with no large amount of grief. I'll be thinking of you all.

I don't have any problems with SRT3 Final. Maybe because I've installed everything manually, without installers and other applications.

Learn how to pack things properly, you're wasting people bandwidth. Your 9000MB package can be easily reduced to 260MB.

To maked it much clear and everyone to understand why I don't have time and why I'm strictly with my ideas, is that I'm moving to a new home. So is just simle now to understand everything. So is much important then seating on this chair and to be occupy with this mod. I don't know when I gona move on the new home and don't know when the cable-man with the internet will come. Possible that I will come back 1/5. May. Possible that all this time till I gona come back, the topic to be locked, is useless to pe opened if I'm not around here, and anytime the topic can become offtopic.

 

Ok people Vas Venturas is finished.

What's new :

• About everything is change in this city.

• Have been change even the text from every shop what you will, everything is new.

• Possible that in time some textures to be changed.

Good work!

 

 

• The Limit of gta3.img are 3,99GB ( I just made a test to see the limit that gta3.img has ). If you gona have 4GB or much more ( and this is impossible ) you will see the game only in .LOD textures. Yes, and nothing else. So this is the limit that gta3.img can go on. Possible to crash your game exiting or entering in the game at the start of loading.

 

It can be easily fixed by creating additional IMG archive...
