elpartizan88
Who said anything about better anti-aliasing? all i've heard is that the PS3 has warmer colours and the 360 has more vibrant colours. The dude at IGN said it had less aliasing problems. Which means it's actually more jaggy. you are the most idiotic fanboy on these forums
sNkLanc
I've really been struggling over this question. On the one hand, I'm really sick of the noise my 360 makes, and pretty wary in general of the hardware failure. However, I really prefer the 360 controller, and the sound of the vibrant color palette appeals to me more than the warm color palette. Chances are I'll end up getting it for both. I have a couple of friends with 360s, and a couple with PS3s, and I'd like to play with all of them, and GTA IV is one of the rare games that I am absolutely psychotic about, so .. Anyone find a third-party wireless controller for the PS3 that features a similar form factor to the 360's? That would eliminate a huge negative for me. There's a site that'll sell you add-on triggers to the SIXAXIS, but that still leaves a bit to be desired. wtf does third party mean, I think the PS3 has better controller, for many reasons like when it dies, IT DIES it doesnt shut off and then on again and say reconnect, then do a stupid circle around it for an hour, it has motion sensors, its not as heavy, and if you like the old playstation controllers why would you like this one? And the batteries last longer and are rechargable, so you dont have to find stupid gay batteries or buy a thing to charge it I find the ps3 control to light.. it needs a bit of weight to it. badboi80
sell ur 360...because the DLC isn't going to be new missions (confirmed) or new islands. The PS3 has better hardware doesn't have RRoD, has blu-ray for great movies, free internet and lots of stuff in the PSN store. Xbox on the other hand has DLC, failing hardware, no blu-ray, P2P internet and yea. So if u want the better of the 2 systems i say sell ur 360. If u want to play GTA IV for like 24 hrs when u get it...keep ur PS3.

(first post) I have both consoles fortunately and i am actully going to be selling one in the near future so i need to know what console to get GTA IV on. I had a brief look at the pole and it seems more of you will be playing GTA IV on the x-box360. I hear there is slightly better graphics on the ps3 version is this true?. I was leaning towards getting the x-box360 version purely for the control, xboxlive. But ofcourse if it is slightly inferior ill have to put up with the sixaxis control wont i . Agreed! Besides the DS3 has this feature with the rumble where if the explosion is far from you, the less rumble you feel. The closer you are to the explosion, the more rumble you feel. You also feel destruction in backgrounds. If you get hit on your left side, the left side of the controller rumbles and vice versa. numdmind
While the 360 has the DLC, I can't help but wonder if I'm regretting my decision to get it for that system. I have both systems as well. Personally, I'm not too psyched about the DLC because of the way microsfot handles their DRM issues. I've reached a point where I can't access any of my DLC without being online, which is pretty lame. That means I can't bring my 360 over to my buddy's house and play the content that I PAID FOR. Plus, I'm almost never logged in to Xbox Live. If I can actually have a hard copy of that content, then there's no problem. Basically I won't be buying it from Xbox Live, but from an actual store where I have a disc, or I just won't get it. M$ are nazis about their digital rights, and there is no way I'm willing to give them more money with no actual hard copy of what I paid for. This digital distribution thing has to stop or they need to figure out a much better way of doing it. Second, I've never been a fan of the way GTA handles on the Xbox, what with the controls being all sorts of jacked up. I hate using the triggers for gas and reverse on GTA, it completely screws up the experience. Just my two cents, I hope it may have been helpful with some of you making a decision. I'm still torn on the whole thing myself...

Rockstar said it. IGN Pushing the Limits Article That's not what he said. Read it carefully: "In general, if it's a very tight story game, as opposed to an open world game, there's often nothing you can really add. Add an extra level. Why? It's done. It's a story. With an open world game there's a little more maneuverability there, but we're super conscious that we want the games to be treated as serious medium. We take it very seriously. We love what we do. It's up to you guys to say if it's art or not. We try really hard. We're not in it just to go, "Here's an extra way of making a dollar." That's going to make all the people who already spent $60, half of them feel redundant. If there's anything that we're selling, we want it to be useful for people." Some people are just reaching now, and this is why rumors get started over the dumbest things. He did not say there wouldn't be any new missions. Also, I've read that the DLC will be as big in size as Vice City. Not Vice City itself, but about the same size. Think of The Shivering Isles content for Oblivion... Although, I still won't be buying the DLC unless I can get it on a disc. I really don't care if I'm missing out because of that, I want a fricking hard copy of the stuff I paid for. It's mine dammit, not microsoft's.
brianjoelmartin
Get the Xbox 360 because you clearly only care about GTA and therefore nothing else should matter. Xbox 360 is the lead platform for GTA, it has DLC that isn't just sh*t. I think you'd prefer it. umm yeah pretty sure playstation has been the lead platform for the entire GTA series. Just because 360 is getting exclusive DLC doesn't mean they have taken over that role. What it actually means is that they are worried about PS3 beating them on sales of the game, and are trying to suide people into buying the 360 for the game. Sony came out with a game console long before MS...and also if i'm not mistaken weren't GTA, GTA 2 (both orignal and 2 released before MS had console) GTA3, GTA VC, and GTA SA all released on playstation before xbox...rockstar is now releasing them both at the same time to stop bickering amongst companies for bragging rights. no doubt that both consoles are amazing in their own respects...i currently own a PS3 and owns a 360 up until about 3 months ago. True that MS may have been a little premature in their release of the system letting it contain so many bugs on first release. But they are generally very good about getting it fixed and back to you quickly. PS3 on the other hand was released later and had the kinks worked out for the most part. with all this said, both systems offer different advantages and disadvantages (ie Xbox live charges members but has more content than the free counterpart in PSN). But all-in-all GTA was originally designed for playstation. Edited April 5, 2008 by brianjoelmartin
bkob18
I own a PS3 but my cousin had an xbox 360 for long before I got my ps3 and i was actually thinking of getting one, But after I got the ps3 i think its a much better console, His 360 broke once, sent it back and now less than month after he received on back, broke again, He even says himself he wishes he would have got a ps3. Plus you have free online play man. It may not be as good as xbox live, But its frickin free man!
rubix99
If I had both consoles I would definately buy the game for each system! As soon as I have enough cash I will be getting a PS3 at some point. Although I am going to be getting the game for the 360.....the RROD problem is so great that I just dont know how long my console will hold out. The DLC was the sole reason for me buying a 360, but I would want the PS3 version as a backup.
Tenk
Okay thanks for the reply's guys. I have a HD-TV will they both run equal in HD? or will one of them have an advantage?. Also could one of you explain what the DMC is please?. They both run at [email protected] which means they will look equal, and will have the same 30 Frames per second. As confirmed by R*. There is no advantage of either Graphically when using a HD output. DLC. Xbox 360 has confirmed DLC by Rockstar and Microsoft. Episodic content offering a large new playablity to the game. There is no confirmed extra DLC such as guns, cars, but it is VERY likely to happen. PS3 has no confirmed DLC by Rockstar. Only Magazines very briefly and carefully point to extras like guns, cars, but there is hinted Home extras. You clearly want GTA for GTA and not for Home. Therefore at this time there is no confirmed DLC. yep, microsoft droped 50 million big ones for the rights to the downloadable content. expect to see AT MOST only a few guns or cars and general patches on the PS3 version, yet expect hours of extra content, though as new story, or seperate story lines, or even new area, I dunno, through the
