FenderUsa
The PS3 is better, fails less, and has better hardware. The Xbox is getting DLC, fails more, and has slightly worse hardware. What you oughta do: Sell your PS3. You'll get more cash, and you'll be sure to get the episodic DLC. The PS will be getting some DLC, but on the same scale as the Xbox. Trund
I just orderd my special editon from tescos for the 360. I got it for £60 i now cannot wait. I gonna laugh if you RROD now.
sNkLanc
Ill wait till i complete MGS over and over. Once i have done ill then probally sell one of them. I would sell one due to the fact i mainly PC game so it seems a waist. I bought DMC on ps3 and hated it. The only games i actully play on console at the moment is fifa 08 on the 360. nealmac
I think its nuts basing which one you sell over GTA alone. There are so many other important pros and cons with both consoles to consider, if you're going to make a big decision like that.

Brit-Boi
An important factor that has been largely overlooked is the machine breaking down. Every week or so now we get a topic like "Man my 360 got RROD", and there will be 2 or 3 pages with some people saying "yeh me too, sucks !!" I've never heard anything like this on the PS3. If I were you, keep them both until GTA comes out, see what you like better AND then sell it. After all, the Xbox version maybe better or the game might contribute to more RROD. (Drastic example, I know )

Slamman
Holy Maholey! This debate rages like the Santa Ana winds! On and on, burning everything in it's path. The short and skinny from me, is the PS3 will have it's own color palatte and that may appear warmer then a 360 up close, but adjust the TV and you won't notice. The myth of washed out colors is broken (I took pics off my TV this evening to prove the image quality from a digital SONY camera, no less! Since I took an image off the TV in a dark room, there'll be deficiencies you'd get as a result, yet no flash was used. I'll upload these later, when I edit them to size and correct any white balance issues. Anyway, anti-aliasing will be minimal, not a detriment as some here like to believe. It blends the outer edges of pixels but will very with the tech in question, the PS3 has sharp detail and no issues with fuzzy image edges. I know, I've seen it in action. -Bill
Hodgey.
Surprise, surprise it turned into another argument over which is the better console. And which will GTA be better on.
GTASIX
Sell the 360 before it dies and get some money for it while you can. Unless you want the dlc if your not too bothered then sell it.
Jonny2410
get it on 360 if you have one - might as well as dlc btw ps3 version benefits from antialising - for some of you 360 noobs that means less jaggies
Slamman
Okay thanks for the reply's guys. I have a HD-TV will they both run equal in HD? or will one of them have an advantage?. Also could one of you explain what the DMC is please?. They both run at [email protected] which means they will look equal, and will have the same 30 Frames per second. As confirmed by R*. There is no advantage of either Graphically when using a HD output. DLC. Xbox 360 has confirmed DLC by Rockstar and Microsoft. Episodic content offering a large new playablity to the game. There is no confirmed extra DLC such as guns, cars, but it is VERY likely to happen. PS3 has no confirmed DLC by Rockstar. Only Magazines very briefly and carefully point to extras like guns, cars, but there is hinted Home extras. You clearly want GTA for GTA and not for Home. Therefore at this time there is no confirmed DLC. He is not asking about DLC Down Loaded Content. Look more carefully and you'll see he doesn't equate DMC to Devil May Cry on PS3/360. Psych
If I had both I'd rather keeping the PS3 for Metal Gear Solid & Final Fantasy later on. That's just me though. EDIT: Then I'd miss out on Fable 2 though...Hmmmm?
Slamman
Well, since DMC was a bad experience (looked alright on GameTrailer's comparison video between the two) I think he's settled on Xb360 and the PC, it's like owning two computers, as you can get most of those games on either system (Windows Games, gotta love the new promo effort)
TheGameKisser
I dont like feeling scared that my computer will break every time i play a game, so get a ps3.
inveni0
Geez, I hate these types of questions. Here's the lowdown: 1) 360 makes you pay to play online with 10 year olds. 2) PS3 doesn't have a really established online set, yet. 3) 360 has better color/contrast 'out of the box' 4) PS3 color/contrast can be improved by setting RGB to 'Full' and Super-White to 'On' in display settings. 5) 360 Controller has some advantages with comfort. 6) PS3 Controller batteries last longer (and most of us are used to playing GTA on PS). 7) 360 could die 5% of the way into the game (especially since you'll be playing so much) 8) PS3 has BluRay...why would you sell a BluRay player? That would be like going from DVD back to VHS. I never bought a 360 because it didn't have the features I wanted at a cheaper price than the PS3. So, I'll be buying for the PS3. a_flyin_penguin
They never confirmed that the graphics are going to be better in the PS3 they only said that there is going to be more peds and traffic on the PS3. LOL what?!? Where did you read that? I need to know how you consider that to be confirmed. Anyways, the 360 RRoD is majorly exaggerated now. The new, improved guts on the systems that are being released currently have nearly wiped out the issue. Some of the older systems still run risk for RRoD, but it's in no way guaranteed to happen as the fanbots will tell you. Which one to sell? That depends on your taste in games. If you like MGS (personally I think it is craptastic), enjoy Gran Turismo games, or don't think Final Fantasy is on an irreversable downslope as I do, Then the PS3 is your system. Personally I prefer the prospect of Fable 2, The Forza Series, and Gears of War 2. Mass Effect 2 will also be designed with the 360 as the lead, and will more than likely be exclusive to the console for a bit before being ported. It's all up to your personal preference though. At the end of the day, GTA IV isn't going to be that much different on either console. You have to look at past trends in the game libraries and look somewhat to the future to guage just how important each one it to you, and not how important it is to everyone else. EDIT: Especially ones like the two fanbots above. Edited April 4, 2008 by a_flyin_penguin

zengonzo
I've really been struggling over this question. On the one hand, I'm really sick of the noise my 360 makes, and pretty wary in general of the hardware failure. However, I really prefer the 360 controller, and the sound of the vibrant color palette appeals to me more than the warm color palette. Chances are I'll end up getting it for both. I have a couple of friends with 360s, and a couple with PS3s, and I'd like to play with all of them, and GTA IV is one of the rare games that I am absolutely psychotic about, so .. Anyone find a third-party wireless controller for the PS3 that features a similar form factor to the 360's? That would eliminate a huge negative for me. There's a site that'll sell you add-on triggers to the SIXAXIS, but that still leaves a bit to be desired.
daarong
I have both consoles fortunately and i am actully going to be selling one in the near future so i need to know what console to get GTA IV on. I had a brief look at the pole and it seems more of you will be playing GTA IV on the x-box360. I hear there is slightly better graphics on the ps3 version is this true?. I was leaning towards getting the x-box360 version purely for the control, xboxlive. But ofcourse if it is slightly inferior ill have to put up with the sixaxis control wont i . All comments welcome Personally, I prefer the xbox. Since you have both though... I'd keep the PS3... its also a bluray player - a huge ass bonus. SoopaMan2K
I have both systems too and here's what I'm doing. I'm getting the PS3 version to play with my friends online. I'm getting the 360 version for story/20 hours of extras. I solved my own problem and I advise those who are confused about which system to get it for; get it for both. Gog
Exactly, why sell either? Both systems are great. If you're going to sell the 360, sell it before GTAIV comes out. I hear there's going to be a price drop with the release of the game.
Matt87
I don't know what the hell all you people are talking about, PS3 is blu-ray.. but either way I know I'll be playing GTA literally non-stop, and if you want to do the same i would suggest the ps3 so it doesnt overheat like all my friends xbox's. And the batteries last longer and are rechargable, so you dont have to find stupid gay batteries or buy a thing to charge it Edited April 5, 2008 by Matt87
