sNkLanc Posted April 4, 2008 Share Posted April 4, 2008 I have both consoles fortunately and i am actully going to be selling one in the near future so i need to know what console to get GTA IV on. I had a brief look at the pole and it seems more of you will be playing GTA IV on the x-box360. I hear there is slightly better graphics on the ps3 version is this true?. I was leaning towards getting the x-box360 version purely for the control,xboxlive. But ofcourse if it is slightly inferior ill have to put up with the sixaxis control wont i . PS3 version is slightly better (i emphasise slightly) anti-aliasing 360 version has slightly better lighting and color. No noticable difference in other words. K^2 Posted April 4, 2008 Share Posted April 4, 2008 PS3 has better technical capabilities, but the performance is better only if the program isn't coded by a bunch of monkeys. So far, every game I've seen to run side-by-side on PS3 and 360 has been coded by monkeys. We'll see how R* manages. What you oughta do: Sell your PS3. You'll get more cash, and you'll be sure to get the episodic DLC. The PS will be getting some DLC, but on the same scale as the Xbox. "Less aliasing problems" Thus it has less of a problem aliasing. aliasing = jaggy. If he had meant anti-aliasing he would have said "It has less of a problem with anti-aliasing". Its amazing- anti aliasing is so present. however there is not advantage on the ps3 with AA - absolutely none and to be honest from the shots we've seen- which are all on 360 (most of them) then you can say do you think you'd be happy with those shots- or the lie of ps3 having better AA? nar i dont think you would be unhappy- Seen as you want to sell one I can't think why when you have content on 360, and a big game by the name of MGS4 to keep that ps3 for. In my opinion dump the ps3, because if you are a GTA fan then you'll want the fullest experience. There is absouletly no difference apart from the vibrancy of colours is greater on 360, and the ps3 is described as using warmed colours. It makes no difference honestly. Again theres no confirmation- but all shots and videos from Trailers 1-3 are using Xbox 360 in real time- so therefore to the OP is this good enough I reckon so. Trailer 4 is to my knowledge probably running on 360- but I dunno if thats confirmed so thats why I say 1-3 and most shots are using Xbox 360. The cue ball in trailer 4, thats smooth as f*ck, some games that focus on playing with a ball Marble blast, tennis games, etc World champ snooker can't even get the ball that smooth with AA, but a huge open world game like GTA can- simply amazing. So for the OP an unbiased sum up Get the Xbox 360 because you clearly only care about GTA and therefore nothing else should matter. Xbox 360 is the lead platform for GTA, it has DLC that isn't just sh*t. I think you'd prefer it. The PS3 and 360 versions are equal in Graphics, FPS all that shabang as confirmed by R*. 360 has more vibrant colours, PS3 has warmed. It doesn't really matter to be honest. Unless you're running a HD TV you could not see the difference, this is what HD TV do so much better vibrancy of colours. A perfect example is playing planet Earth on bluray versus the DVD version on a standard def television. The colours are amazing . Yes I wandered off and gave you a long off topic answer yet again. There is no advantage of either Graphically when using a HD output. DLC. Xbox 360 has confirmed DLC by Rockstar and Microsoft. Episodic content offering a large new playablity to the game. There is no confirmed extra DLC such as guns, cars, but it is VERY likely to happen. PS3 has no confirmed DLC by Rockstar. Only Magazines very briefly and carefully point to extras like guns, cars, but there is hinted Home extras. You clearly want GTA for GTA and not for Home. I do believe you- from what I remember it has 4x AA on the Xenos GPU. Of course I read all this in 2005 so I may have forgotten. Like I said countless times here theres no advantage over both graphically. Both run [email protected] 360 has DLC, its also the lead platform. So my guess is Xbox 360 again.
