Money droping out of fallen peds

Oh come on. Do you want to have to pick their wallets out of their pockets?

Why... yes. Yes I do.

Like everything I do in life, I like to take my time and do things to the fullest.

For example, when I make love to a beautiful woman, when I eat an expensive steak, when I play video games.

Life is short, savour each moment.

So would you like it if you had to sleep in GTA IV, and you actually had to wait 8 hours until you were allowed to wake up and play again?

How about, you have your own car, and you actually have to find your keys in your home before you can get the car to work. Oh, and you have a wife and kids, and there is an eating mini-game where you have to cook the food, eat it with your right and left analogue sticks to control your knife and fork. Oh and you have to change your kids nappy if he craps himself.

Or, alternatively, you could calm down a bit and not get upset about a glib comment.

Just how tight ARE those twisted panties you're sitting in?

Seriously, though... I think there's room for more realism. What you're suggesting is just being extreme for the sake of being extreme. That wouldn't be fun AT ALL. However, there is still room for a little realism. I think body searching would be a fair middle ground. It doesn't have to take long:

Body drops. Player approaches. Player presses button. Full contents of wallet are instantly transferred to the player, and weapons, if any, are also transferred. No need for an animation, even, just a button press. It would still be more realistic than a flying cash-wad.

Yeah, great idea.

Stand over a dead body, "Search Body" appears, press the button, and then a small menu appears with things like their wallet, watch, necklace, ring, guns, and whatever else they have on them. An option like "Take All" would appear or you could just take the items individually--the ones you want. You could sell the jewellery for a ton of money or keep it and wear it.

This feature would add more depth to the whole dead body thing and it's way better than just having only money fall out.

Like Fallout 1-2 on PC, brilliant games those. Can't wait for Fallout 3.

I see it more as you stand over the body, press a button and it all just transfers - it doesn't need a menu or animation.

If there's still the old "can't have more than one of this class of gun, press {button} to swap" thing, those guns will drop to the floor, and if you want to swap, you have the opportunity to. Having a menu would slow it down, like others said before.

It could be instant, but there would be an option available to those that have time to really look at what they've got.

Yeah, you're right. An interactive menu would slow things down. Having everything transfer with the press of a button would be the way to go.

This is getting more towards GTA MMO, it's kind of like Oblivion-esque. I'm not saying it wouldn't make a good game but it would be a very different one to the game we will be gettin in three weeks time.

Yeah, great idea but instead of a menu coming up after you press the search body button, your character should just be able to grab everything at once. Maybe a button press that would drop what I dont want would be good too.

I'm confused about something. In multiplayer will we be able to transfer money to our friends in-game? What I mean is what if we go for a drink and my friend has no money? Can I pay for his drink or can I give him money somehow? The only thing I seen about the way the money is handled is collecting it from dead bodies. I'd hate to have to die just to give my friend some money. Does anybody have a clue as to how this will work?
