A plan to stop Rick Rolls

Okay, so my last suggestions thread wasn't... Good, but this one is. Promise!

I know alot of people are getting sick of the Rick Roll videos. The solution? Add a word filter for all known Rick Roll video links.

Like we have a filter for f*ck. This one would search for the 'word' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxnWl63Avo4 (And any others), and replace it with 'No Rick Roll Videos'.

What do you think?

Rather than trying to keep up with all the links to all the "rick roll" videos (which would be pretty pointless anyway seeing as someone could just use something like tinyurl), wouldn't it just be easier to make a rule "link to rick roll, get banned" or something?

 

To be honest, I could care less if people go around linking to a video. On the other hand, the ones that lock up people's browsers with javascript or whatever are different, as anything that locks up someone's browser is malicious and should be against the rules.

Using flashblock in Firefox, you can avoid the videos starting before you actually click the flash object. So you can just check the title of the page. They usually supply the information.

In a March 2008 interview, Astley said that he found the rickrolling of Scientology to be "hilarious"; he also said that he will not try to capitalize on the rickroll phenomenon with a new recording or remix of his own, but that he'd be happy to have other artists remix it. Overall, Astley is fine with the phenomenon, although he finds it a little "bizarre" and only hopes that his daughter receives no embarrassment over it.

OnTopic: The YouTube ones don't bother me, it's the ones that minimise your browser and shakes it around all over your screen whilst playing the song so you can't get off of it that really annoy me. As someone else said, whoever posts those should either be verbally warned or even banned. What if I had quite a few tabs open, even with long posts waiting to be submitted and I had to close my browser because some stupid f*cko had "Rick Roll'd" me.

EDIT: After some research I found that somebody tried using drastic action in a runescape forum over it. He was just laughed at.
