I say it would work better if you gained a little experience with a more developed brand then branch off and create your own.

Mikeol1987
Maybe someone will make you a graphic for your 14th birthday. I'm 20 years old. This is a serious venture into the world of gaming, and was wondering if anyone was interested. yes business is hard but I know all about that considering I've been running my own repair company now for 3 years. Hayden
Go to Rockstar Games or a reputable gaming developer and offer your services. They like good ideas. Sure I'd like to help but for one, I'm 16, two, I live in Australia, and three, I only grasp light knowledge of software design. Have fun with your company. Games are an entirely different thing. It's hard to get people to try your product when you haven't made a name for yourself and no money will be coming in for months...hope you got the funds

Start by knowing what skills you know will be good in the games industry, maybe go for a Total Conversion of a game with a large team to get started and get reconised by a large company, like valve. Believe me, this is a good idea, BUT, by total conversion i don't mean 'a new map to San Andreas, gta Paradise City'. I mean make a brand new game within a game engine, try and get qualifications, get a good mixture of actual game designing along with qualifications, as the industry moves at a lightning speed pace, you may get left behind if you just studey at school for years. I wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavours.

The programing language you get is C which im 95% certain game programers dont use. I dont really have an interest in being a programmer anyways im more into the business side/marketing/HR. So if your needing any of them skills i will be happy to jump on board.
gta_king
Thats very true. I went to college and done my HNC computing but to be honest it teaches you basicly nothing. The programing language you get is C which im 95% certain game programers dont use. Usually it's best to have a firm knowledge of C++ and of course how to program in an Object Orientated Environment. If you want to start a games company my advice simply is don't. Instead look into making mods or making amature games by yourself. Looking for a team and saying "I want to start up a games company" just isn't going to work in todays Gaming World. You need to have a knowledge of the industry and you need to have some experience within it before even thinking about going into it. You want to get into gaming, study one of the skills required to get into the industry and work your way up. Make a portfolio of whatever your field is. You want to be a programmer, work on a few simple games and build up a portfolio that way. An artist, same thing, designer a portfolio of your design documents. E-mail companies and ask for advice on getting into the industry and what you'll need. Making a game no requires a huge team of people and a hell of a lot of money and resources. Gouveia
Dude, you should go for it, if you have the money, the team, and the skills. It's like a GTA TC, but you need to code ALL OF THE ENGINE, wich sucks ass. But, if you have the right coder, you should be ok

Picolini
Why would you recruit employees on an internet forum? Most people here probably don't even live in your country, let alone general area, for starters. Don't expect to get a serious large company set up if you've got to work with people over the internet, as it's just not feasible. You could make a small game, but nothing amazing. Sure it'd be a start... but I dunno, just sounds pointless, imo. Good luck anyways.
