Throw it out and get an xbox. lulz thatll be the day I'll stick with nextgen and use my PS3 there is not next gen the xbox 360 and the ps3 are the current gen. I'm actually thinking that, if the PS3 version does not support 1080, I may have to hold out a few months on picking up GTA4, until either I get enough money for a new TV or an Xbox. think of what wil be the best decision, im not a xbox 360 fanboy, but i would get a 360 because its cheaper than a new tv and you have new games to play that you couldnt get before. a new experience so to speak. lol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

By default it just automatically plays the native resolution. The scaling issue with the PS3 is that developers have to implement scaling support in their games. The 360 automatically upscales to any resolution you have set in the Dashboard, without any kind of extra developer support in their games. Some PS3 games support scaling, some don't. So, what you are doing, forcing 1080i (which is what I do as well), only works on the games that support it. For the games that do not support it, it will downscale to 480p (unless 720p is checked and the TV supports it). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
