MysteryGamer Posted April 4, 2008 Share Posted April 4, 2008 This sucks for you guys Why was it announced just before last Christmas (2007) that the Australian version is uncut and then 5 months later Rockstar say now the Australian release will now actually be edited Anyway it isn't all that bad I know Playstation 3 owners will definitely be able to simply import an American or British copy either way they are the same, uncut and any Playstation 3 title will play on a Playstation 3. I don't know about the XBOX 360 but I think as long as the format is PAL it should work fine on the Australian spec XBOX 360 consoles but don't quote me on that. There's no way I'm going to cancel my pre-order, and get it from another country just because it's been censored. Unless it's been significantly changed (Which I seriously, seriously doubt) what's the problem? There'll probably be a bit of gore, swearing and the hookers taken out, so what? I would hate to see what you guys would be like, if it got banned. Than again I'm probably one of the most laid back people on this forum, who doesn't really care. So since it is being released here, it can only be something small. If it's prostitutes, it's not a big woop, it's only funny for the first 10 seconds, then you're over it. If it's the partial nudity, not many people will mind a few more bits of clothing, unless you do get turned on by pixel coated babes. It definitely won't be language, since Saints Row was released uncensored (and if it is, a bit of unnecessary swearing isn't going to be missed... by many). The blood is going to be no problem, there is no gore, only Blood splats and effective ragdoll/behavioral animations, nothing serious. All the special editions will be sold (at least from places I can ship from inexpensively) by the time Rockstar releases a press release. The papers are reporting it, many sites are reporting it, and I got correspondance from Take2 telling me the same thing. Add to all that GTA's track record in being rated in Australia and I'm saying this crap is real. I'll be off to the Gamesmen tomorrow pulling my pre-order and buying it from my NZ store (and their cutoff for the SE is sunday!). Does anyone know if they try to keep any of your money (like the deposit or anything) when cancelling pre-orders? I think we need a rating above MA15+ (That isn't as harsh as R18+), similar to M17+ in the US Although, I doubt it's much. I know Vice City needed some of the cutscenes edited, as well as the cutting of the hookers. But because hookers could pass in San Andreas, I'm betting it will this time. Warnut Posted April 4, 2008 Share Posted April 4, 2008 Hey guys im not really on this forum but thort the new GTA was coming out so i thort i would join up now i am also a aussie that was pi$t about this cencor crap but might say i havent looked at all the post in this thread, but if you own a PS3 you are laughing as its not region protected so u can get one from the US Japan china u name it and it will play, How ever the poor 360, we wont get that much into that as it has the region protection on it so they will have to hunt around for another PAL version and hope for the best. there are many places u can get them for instace amazon, ebay ect these prob have been bought up alot also if you get on good with somone in the states or ect ya can get them to send u the game and transfer the correct money into there account ect so dont crack it too much (well if ya own a 360 pannic for the worse coz your cencored for life) but all in all, it is possible to get a uncencored version in to Aus i myself am getting a USA version thnx USA as i own a ps3 its fairly simple to ask me cousin in the states to send me one. i will add if most of this have been coverd b4 i do appoligize cheers Warnut Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cuz, you know that little island just to the southeast of Australia? Yeah, that place with all the sheep, they have R18 for video games so you can just import from there instead.
