Angelus031
now do you think that this time you could actually own a damn car...like for instance.Let's say you leave it on the other side of LC,and there's let's say a blip.which tells you where the car is...or in other words, the car is a thing which the game remembers,so you could actually own a car,not just go around stealing cars, which would by the time you finished the game 100%,end up in something like a couple of thousand cars stolen...unrealistic,don't you think so? SIKKS66
See: the name of the game. It's called GRAND Theft Auto. Not 'Own a Car'! If you want to own a car, go play Forza. TBH, I can't wait to plough my first ride into some peds and see em fly with the new physics.
Geedoo
Just garage a car or two. Pretend you "own" it.
.Up&Coming.
Yeah that would always be cool. I've always wanted a car that's always there for you, but the jacking really does replace that. I have a bad memory anyway.
DCypher11
y do people say "its grand theft auto, if you wanna do xyz, go play xyz" cant people want to play grand theft auto with something new in the game?
TheDude5000
Just saving cars in your garage has always worked for me, at least in the sense of feeling as if it's your car. But maybe they'll have some sort of impound/towing system in IV, which was touched up on lightly in SA. You leave a car out there, it gets towed and you can go pick it up. Or not. Oldsmobile
I like that "blip" idea that was mentioned in the first post. Imagine parking your car somewhere, and then, ten minutes later, seeing your blip start moving around the map. You catch up to the blip, only to find some strange guy driving your car around with a busted window!
mrernie
At least one thread about this a day. Its called Grand Theft Auto... Yeah one of the cop stations apparently spawned any cars that you lost, or left behind, or if you got busted while in a car, when you spawned outside the cop station the car would be down in the garage. I think it's the one in San Fierro. In fact, I'm gonna go test it right now. Brb.

I can't be bothered to state the reasons of how stupid it is to 'own' a car on a game where the name is about stealing them. So if I made a game called "Pure Sex" and it was about killing rabbits, you'd think it was bad because it wasn't a game about nothing but sex...? I think you will be able to own cars, since Rockstar themselves have said that its harder to Jack car's without been caught.

tommo400
You can ride taxis, trains, or just walk, so you can't really use the "it's grand theft auto" argument. If you've ever played a GTA game, you know the game is so much more than just stealing cars, especially with IV.
Ragered
i think niko "owns" a stallion at the beggining of the game until it blows up

Like in GTA III, you could catch the LTrain or the Subway, that isn't Grand Theft Auto, thats Public Transport.

Medaphoar
I dont think it would be a good idea. but i do think that parking a car somewhere and coming back with it still there, even after a nice amount of time gone, would be a good idea.
Boris Carloff
I think its touching on the realism factor there is no way that one person can steal 1500 cars in one week and leave them all over the place and not get caught, the first GTA was about stealing cars, killing people, and dealing drugs. It would be too much of a hassle to steal a car every 5 seconds and have the window smashed in and get a wanted star every minute I think its an easily implimented system, and since its called "GRAND THEFT AUTO" and it seems some of you think thats what the game is all about guess what its a franchise name, by the ay if its all about stealing cars why are the trailers and the screenshots only aobut taking taxis, and killing people? BioSphere
I think owning a car would be kinda pointless... The game is called grand theft auto.. As Said before. But The pointless part as i meant... You can't customize it, so it wont be any different from the other cars driving around so just go find another one just like it if you lose that one. cochese
idk didnt they say u can buy a car or something? if you buy it then garage/parking space it then you own it dont you? there doesnt need to be blips though lol Im so pissed there is no customization, inless they were lying to us. and as for GTA SA with the towing cars, on PS2 i went into that massive san fiero parking garage with cops and never found anything but cop cars down there, nothing i ever drove.
