mista morino Posted April 3, 2008 Share Posted April 3, 2008 Hi all , while viewing the Gamestop commercial for GTA4 I recalled hearing the song they used , but I can't remeber either the title nor if it was by Miles Davis or Thelonius Monk , anyone here knows ? And he’s a real bloody jazz snob so he gave us these tracks and these tracks only – you know, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Coltrane – and that’ll be for people like the classical music was in GTA III. It’s very New York and it feels great. But I could go on – there’s a lot of music in the game, an awful lot, and a lot of exclusive stuff, a lot of new stuff. It has been very, very important for it to feel as ‘now’ as we could possibly make it while still having great music. And the beauty of radio, particularly in the US, is that they play a lot of classics alongside new tracks, so when you play the game it feels like the radio feels here – you hear a brand-new record you’ve never heard before or you hear one of your favorites." Now that you mention it , I hope there are more tracks from Birth of Cool , but since they're so many great jazz artists , they'll probably go for one song that album.
