I know it might cut ALOT of revenue from expansions and such, but we should be playing GTA4 for a very long time to come and it should give them time to develop the true masterpice that no game will ever match. I would seriously spend like £100.00 (EDIT:possibly more R*) on a 4 disk GTA. or on downloadable (is that even a word(spelled like that?(is it spelled or spelt?)?)) I would wait another 4/5/6/ years to see it. I would play it (possibly) for the rest of my life. GTA over several years=f*ckING EPIC The character development. The detail. The subtleties. CRAZY! Detroit fits the bill for a GTA game perfectly !! The automotive capital of America, with a rich history in both music and architecture, falls prey to the ravages of social-upheaval and urban blight. I could see a city based on a combination of Detroit and Chicago MAYBE, but the temporal setting would have to be really cool. Like maybe the late 1970s. Also, I would like to see some rural areas to balance it out. I would still love to see Texas though. Texas int he 70s wold be sick with a combo of country/western, disco, funk, and early metal could make an epic soundtrack. Getaway games might as well be set in the midwest - just bland environments of poorly crafted uninteractive deadspace that are devoid of any kind of character or personality. It lifeless and doesnt actually capture the feel, the atmosphere or the people london at all. Every aspect of that game is quite frankly just boaring. its an injustice really. london needs to be saved the way los angeles was saved from true crime. I think GTA Toronto ( Possibly named "GTA T.O" ), or GTA Montreal (Possibly named GTA Francais) seeing that Montreal and Toronto are both extensively cultural places, and maybe GTA Vancouver ( Possibly GTA Weed-Town )! R* has offices in Vancouver and Toronto so they would probably know the city very well. And I would absolutely love a full out 2D canadian stereotype in th city, like people getting bumped and for some reason we say sorry when they hit us, and a really bad canadian accent.If you think Montreal is not a dangerous place, statistics show you have a 16x more chance of getting pickpocketed in Montreal than in New York. I think a Canadian or English GTA would be awesome. This is a good point actually (the language thing, not GTA Canada lol ). I hadn't even considered why GTA Moscow was a non-starter !! Obviously R* know who there core demographic is, and that demographic is overwhelmingly English speaking. So I guess mainland America it is then. You've got the NOLA music scene, poverty (housing projects), crime, Katrina, racial issues, drugs etc. I can imagine a "Taxi Driver" style theme (wrong city, I know), as Travis Bickle puts it, "Thank God for the rain to wash the trash off the sidewalk", or "All the animals come out at night - whores, skunk pussies, buggers, queens, fairies, dopers, junkies, sick, venal. Someday a real rain will come and wash all this scum off the streets." Also, although a native, I've never thought of anywhere in Australia as that plausible of an option. Chicago would only work either in the future or the past and there would have to be some distance between it and the release of iv in order to draw enough distinction between the titles.
