Rumor has it its Winnipeg

That would be hilarious, go up to churchill and kill polar bears and other stuff like stealing snowmobiles. Follow the only road, follow the only road, follow the only road in Canada and see where it goes! Ottawa left, Newfoundland right!

GTA South America ? got enough crims

think about it , colombian druglords, brazilian gangsters , add the caribean for a haitian element , cubans and then florida keys, would be a good game,

similar to vice city but massive with whole countries

I think Moscow would be nice but if realism is going to be a factor, I'm not sure it would be easy to see 3.8 million russians suddenly speak english so that people don't get have to learn russian for GTA Moscow. I think GTA Toronto ( Possibly named "GTA T.O" ), or GTA Montreal (Possibly named GTA Francais) seeing that Montreal and Toronto are both extensively cultural places, and maybe GTA Vancouver ( Possibly GTA Weed-Town )! R* has offices in Vancouver and Toronto so they would probably know the city very well. And I would absolutely love a full out 2D canadian stereotype in th city, like people getting bumped and for some reason we say sorry when they hit us, and a really bad canadian accent.

If you think Montreal is not a dangerous place, statistics show you have a 16x more chance of getting pickpocketed in Montreal than in New York. I think a Canadian or English GTA would be awesome.

GTA Australia would be awesome. Too bad it will never happen.

EDIT: Any major city in Australia, bar Darwin.

OMG anywhere but Vice city and SA. suicidal.gif (I'd still love it and play it, but plz R* can make a new city?)

I bet for my dear life that R* will never ever move the place outside the US (except maybe for the UK - I give 5% possibility)

Pff, you all don't know the real thing don't you?

Off course its gonna be GTA Fryslân!, with Leeuwarden (Ljouwert), Goutum, Snits (sneek) and Franeker!(Frentsjer).

maybe some more "cities" while their busy, it will be immensley popular!

Search the cities up if you don;'t know them

You've got to be kidding me! LOL

Of course its gonna be GTA Amsterdam! We have a big red light ditrict, a coffeeshop with the best pot on every corner, many booby bars and a hell of a lot more! Fryslân would be just boring... tounge.giftounge2.giftounge.gif

Just kidding now... I think also it will be London. At least I hope so!

It has to be London.

London would be horrible, i don't go to london often but it wouldn't just real right. Especially after the getaway. I would prefer other american cities that rockstar havn't worked on yet.

If one more person compares GTA to the Getaway, I swear I'll go crazy.

And they've explored the more major areas of the USA. NY, Miami, LA, LV, and San Francisco. The only other major city I can think of is Washington D.C.

Then again, GTA: Mississippi would be cool. Me wants vengeance after what they did to Emmett Till.

I grew up in Mississippi. Trust me: GTA Mississippi would suck balls. There are no real cities, thought the gulf coast might be cool, but before Katrina.

Re: Emmitt Till -- I grew up by where that happened. Yeah it was messed up.

SerenUnderdog

What about resurecting the Hawaii project? i recall a GTA: hawaii was in dev years ago( it was probably only a fan made mod for the 1st GTA)

And the more i think about it, the less i see some other US city for a next GTA, i mean, from a non US point of view, there is not much city that is really known wold wide and could appeal non-US players..

Maybe chicago, but even the US capital, what do the world remember about DC? the white house, the pentagone and that's it...

SerenUnderdog brings up a good point. The next GTA location will need to be marketable so some degree. I mean, GTA will sell itself, but the location is important.

Some ideas: Texas. Texas is known the world over. It could be sprawling like San Andreas, while also having cities based on Houston and Dallas. It could be named Rohas or something fictional.

Also: unlike a lot of my fellow Americans, I like the idea of London or a British setting in general. Especially if it was set circa 1980, with all the economic turnoil and rise of punk rock -- it could have an epic soundtrack (the Clash, Sex Pistols, Sham 69, etc).

Las Venturas: Vegas was founded by the mob in the 1950s. Playing a gangster making a slice for himself in the wild west full of casinos could be very sweet.

Something a lot of you are forgetting: time! 1970s disco might have sucked, but it was also iconic. It coincided with the expansion of cocaine as a drug.

Anyway, these are some marketable ideas that I think could sell a lot of games. Carcer city might be cool, but I'm not sure it wold be as successful. Also, cities based on large American Midwest cities like Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland or St. Louis, even though they have high crime, would not appeal to a global audience the same way a London, Vegas, or the whole state of Texas would.

Guys: remember to include a time period in your ideas! smile.gif

LA. Its obviously going to be LA next. San Andreas really didn't convince me of the Cali lifestyle. I've got relatives all over LA, and if I had to choose exactly one zone of play for GTA for the rest of my next-gen days, it would be Venice Beach. It would definately step up the 'large scale' multiplayer.

I'm from the Dallas, Texas area. It would be a complete hit or miss. Some places in Dallas and Fort. Worth are really badass, but to be immersed into Texas you'd need to be able to go to Austin, SanAn, Maybe Chorpus Christi for the summertime.

Maybe that'll bring up some truly massive scale gaming.... I'm not gonna say it.... but....

you have just named all the thing i'd like to see.

northern england in that time would be great there just wasn't any guns. it'd be more suited to a warriors style football hooligan game. that'd be amazing imo.

a 70s liberty city would be great aswell.

Okay. South america would be too much like Just Cause. A modern VC is too trashy. same with detroit (i live there). San Andreas is perfect. Has the ghetto, suburbs, and rich cities.

Depending upon how great the stroyline is, what's wrong with expanding Liberty City in 4?

If characters are great and the location is great I would happily have many downloadable episodes for GTA 4. They have spent a LONG time creating this city, why not expand it, make it greater, make it more of an epic?

Or is that just a S H I T idea?

Not a bad idea at all, I think Rockstar should look to developing broader gameplay with it's beautiful attention to detail.

Didn't GTA2 or 1 have multiple cities?

Imagine how epic of a GTA game you could have if you maybe showed a father-son lineage starting from the 60's London, 66-70's Detroit (all for my beloved muscle cars), 80's Liberty City, 90's LA, and maybe 2k+ Texas?

I know it's a pipe dream, but I think R* needs to expand the sandbox WITH the expansion of the story line.

Maybe we need to start a poll on how many would be up for a 4 disc game, each with it's own city. I know it might cut ALOT of revenue from expansions and such, but we should be playing GTA4 for a very long time to come and it should give them time to develop the true masterpice that no game will ever match.
