I still think it will be Los Santos, but if they do intend on building a new city (based on an existing one), then they would probably consider one of the more extreme locations.. I think those would be nice and different but very interesting. Honestly though I'd like to see another 80's style vice city game if only because they've got the graphics to really pull off some amazing neon lighting, good looking babes, and it seems like a natural transition seeing as how R* seems to like to do the three main cities in thier crime ridden america over and over. Maybe something from the twenties chicago is long overdue. Can anyone think of some good crime genre movies that haven't been played out in GTA games allready? The only ones I can think of are the voodoo gangs in New orleans or the IRA in Ireland. I guess they could do a "thelma and Louise" thing just for the sake of newness but I really wouldn't be that interested in a female lead, sorry if that sounds sexist, but it just wouldn't be as cool and I'm not the only one who would think that. But they haven't said that they weren't happy with VC or SA, so they probably don't feel the need to re-make those. Most people overlook this reason too much. Anyway. It could be anywhere, really. Maybe Carcer City finally. Or maybe even something in another country. A GTA in London could really work, but they'd have to make sure it didn't feel like The Getaway games at all, because they totally f*cking sucked. An interestingly designed and populated city makes a good GTA setting. All cities are interestingly populated. Put enough people in one small area at the same time and watch the fireworks !! Of course the design matters, but R* don't try too hard to replicate the exact layout of a city, so I don't see why any of the majour locations cant be made "interesting". Having a significant criminal element entwined in the status and culture of a city would lend any GTA game a real sense of direction. I'd also throw Moscow into the mix, but suspect the price of Nico (with his eastern European heritage) is that there will be a complete change of direction for the next game. Posted April 3, 2008 Share Posted April 3, 2008 id rather they didnt do london, we have the getaway for that i know it would be unoriginal if they did vice city as the follow up to IV and then san andreas afterwards, but id still love see the next gen touch up, i figure they`d want to steer it in a new direction, after this who knows, could be a little more worldly if you know what im sayin, i figure they could create continents, that`d be mad, america is probably the best country to base it off though, so much pop culture to be defiled, so many resources.. GTA3Freak-2001 Posted April 4, 2008 Share Posted April 4, 2008 I reckon it will be San Andreas, not the state of San Andreas the city as seen in the original GTA. A simple city that combines San Francisco and Los Angeles together. I just feel that with GTA San Andreas each city didn't get given the justice they deserved as the gameplay and story had to be shared amongst three cities and wilderness in between. It felt like they tried to cram too much in and as such the charm was lost on the player. As Rockstar have said about why they chose Liberty City again for GTA IV, it was because they could finally create the city the way they wanted it to be.
