It's basically story and tacking over businesses, but still a slight GTA feel there. I would re-buy Saints Row but needing all the money I can to get me a decent 24" Monitor by the release day so I can play in full HD for the first time!! Ha! Like I needed an excuse to get it; even tho I beat it on my old XBOX, I haven't yet played it on the 360. Good lookin out; I'd forgotten they made a version for it. Will be getting that this evening! Hart Posted April 3, 2008 Share Posted April 3, 2008 im never buying SR again. for one reason... its too addictive! the Insurance Fraud is THE most addictive mini game thing. i never completed, spent all my time on insurance fraud haha Insurance Fraud is the best mini game i´ve ever played TBH, I'm finding myself enjoying the drug running missions...all you gotta do is shoot while the dealer drives...idiot cop AI makes it a bit difficult as they all try to ram you at once at higher levels. The story is wack, the voice acting is wack because of said story and the missions are as derivative as any classic GTA, but w/out the good story to back it up, you can really SEE how repetitive and boring they can become. You know, they should have done some sort of tribute to GTA seeing as they took a lot from the franchise and tried to make it their own. By that, I mean like an easter egg or something, just as an acknowledgement. The game could've been worse, it could've been as buggy and glitchy as TC:NYC was; and some of the minigames are really cool; like the drug running, the insurance fraud is hilarious what with the Havok engine, escort's kinda boring but stealin ho's from rival pimps is always good fun. Mayhem is ok too... Being a diehard GTA fan, I can't find a lot to like about this game that hasn't been done better by previous GTAs. But I'm still playing it because I don't have a hdd in my 360 so I can't really play SA or VC...but its on my list. Since SA is the last GTA to incorporate actual planes, I have to have that one. VC...well...just because it was the best in the franchise to date, IMO. while i honour your opinion, i thought VC was the worst starting from GTA III. (also ruling out LCS and VCS) while i liked the 80's vibe and the music in it was very good, i thought the missions in it were quite boring and tbh i thought vercetti was a bit of an a- hole. vercetti lovers dont flame me Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Scarface on PC or PS2 was really good. On Xbox or 360 I hated it because of the funky controls. Some of the best new stuff in GTAIV is from Scarface(like the buddy showing up with weapons in his trunk to sell). Granted it's not as good as any of the original GTA3 trilogy, but it's worth playing if you need something to get you through the next 3 weeks. If you just have to have a 360/PS3 game that's somewhat open world and you like racing, try Burnout Paradise, it's pretty fun for just racing around in. Yeh I heard so many people say, "Dude this game is way better then San andreas" and all I can do is sigh because although it is a lot better in some ways (targeting whatnot) it is stupid to compare them when one is so old. Now after people see the games side by side maybe they won't be such idiots. With SR2 being cartoony jam packed with cliche's and with a horrible storyline, the only way it can compete is with the ability to do stupid sh*t that doesnt matter. And i was glad i did, because i played it for about five hours, got sick of the droll story, the horrible radio with the ads that left a sour taste in my mouth, and the oddly cartoonish graphics, and went back to playing San Andreas. It's funny you mention the 5 hours, because I too played SR, and I did find it interesting, but it just didn't hold my attention for more than about 4 hours. That's just the nature of things when we have friendly competition in the sandbox genre. We've definately been spoiled by GTA. As far as sandbox games go, GTA is the game to which all others will be compared.
