iCoke Posted April 3, 2008 Share Posted April 3, 2008 (edited) Just seen an interview with Common for the upcoming movie 'Street Kings' on Spike TV, Common mentioned doing "voice work" for GTA IV along with a show in NY for a R* after the movie was a wrap. The interview just aired Im hoping someone has recorded it, gonna search youtube for now. anyone see this? Im wonder if he is a character or has a radio part? I think they look almost identical. And to think people doubted and actually made fun of my discovery. Posted April 3, 2008 Share Posted April 3, 2008 i cant wait for this game, gotta tell my mates that commons gonna be in it, this coupled with news that rapper nas has an exclusive song for this game has made my day, thanks for the info man, i think nas and common capture the NY/LC vibe very well in there songs, ever heard respiration by common/talib kweli/and mos def, the clip for it just has that real gritty NY vibe to it check it out people!! iCoke Posted April 3, 2008 Author Share Posted April 3, 2008 I think him being part of http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/events/event0.html#bb was a solid hint that maybe his music would make the game, then trailer 4, then this Nothing on youtube yet but the interview might be played again on spike it was kinda one of those add/hype interviews, they were pushing GTA IV, Condemned 2 and FF during UFC tonight aswell. now if only we could get Mos Def in there too. Posted April 3, 2008 Share Posted April 3, 2008 yes mos def(inetely) yeah lame i know.... that would be great to have him in it too, and for that matter, im not big on the whole rap/hip hop scene nowadays, in my opinion old school is alot better, but i would love to see a game with a large array of rappers in a sandbox style but not as sh*t as previous def jam games by the way iCoke lovin the sig man guess i know my GTA then... "Go" would be a nice cruising track. And getting back to Mos Def, Sex Love and Money would be a very fitting track to cruise, kill or... well. It'd just be awesome to have it there. It's funny, Rockstar actually give rappers/DJ's small roles within the game. GTA III: Guru for Gangstarr GTA Vice City: ? Maybe R* are basing the characters on the voice actors.. San Andreas has a lot of references.. Samuel L Jackson and Chris Penn looked like their characters.. I love the fact that Rockstar has never really been a company to go get 50 Cent and all those other hugely popular rappers to play roles. A well respected artist in GTAIV is greatly appreciated.
