Seriously, shut up.

It'd be a great addition to the realism aspect, that's for sure.

OT: Yeah, it would be good if they had some humour in them, but its not something i'll lose sleep over.

Shut up, this is such a stupid question and topic. Leave the U.S. if you're going to whine about it.

A real patriot questions his government in an attempt to make it better.

The real core tenants of American ideals are that of free speech and general rule by the people.

The President is not America, the flag is not America, our tanks and fighter jets are not America... The constitution and the people are America.

Pointing out the fact that our President makes dumb mistakes (EDIT:: I think he does it purposefully to appeal to the folksy down home Christian conservative base. It's all about psychology and linguistics.) is not an affront on the this country... it is first an observation, second a genuine concern about the intelligence of the most powerful man in the world, and third a potential insult on him.

With this in mind you go on to tell him to leave the country if he wants to whine about it. You're so blindly jingoistic that you just assume that a man that talks about how good America is and who wears a lapel flag pin (which is likely made in China) must be a good U.S. citizen... You just see the red, white, and blue, and the fancy photo montages on the news and all the pro America hype and assume all is well... you fell for it. It's all a facade to trick well meaning people like yourself into supporting a man and an agenda that does not favor America as a whole... but rather a few privelidged individuals in wealth and power.

This country was built on the principal that people should exercise free speech and critique their governments... and you tell an individual to leave because he did just that? You sir should leave this country for failing to acknowledge what this country truly stands for and the constitution that spells it all out.

It's not a black and white world... And I for one will not stand for such ignorance that is your "'Merica love it or leave it" philosophy. I love America so much that I have the balls to point out how we could be better and where we are doing wrong... otherwise how could we ever stand to improve?

@ anyone outside of the U.S. sick off individuals like the the quoted poster. I sympathize. I am truly ashamed that my fellow country men/women would act in such an abhorrent nature. And I know bashing the U.S. has really come into the vogue lately... but for my sake I request that you think about all the sane non offensive people here that don't act like asshats (and as such do not get airtime on the news.) Hopefully some of you abroad can take solace in the fact that many individuals like myself don't think acting wrecklessly in the international community is acceptable (especially considering the power we wield/like a toddler with a machine gun...) and many are working to regain control of the country in order to conduct ourselves like a civilized nation once again.

This counrty is not free and it sure as hell isn't run by its people. Im a PATRIOT and i hate this government and the entire system. This is my true American pride. ... Anyways I'd really love to see some satire of our system. Especially conspiracy and scandal. LOL Catching the mayor with a prostitute in a mission.... sounds familiar.

on topic again... for those who arent politically minded or into that sort of thing at all... GTA is overflowing with social and political stereotypes and references... it really wouldn't feel the same without some sort of commentary of political and societal issues that are of importance today. Hearing stuff from candidates or radio hosts, or people like Mayor Bryce Dawkins would be an excellent way to parody stuff... much like was done in Vice City with Pastor Richards and Congressman Alex Shrub.

...Presidents aren't Gods....they are people that America trusts to take of their country and reflect their opinions within communal problems.

Just because a President makes a grammatical error, messes up part of a speech, or twists his words by accident reflects in no way his intelligence whatsoever. Actually, by making such an inference I believe it is the American population that has its intelligence measured...poorly. It would be the same as me saying that Hillary Clinton would make a bad president because she is horrifically ugly and has a decrepit face...we all know she would make a bad President because she is a girl lol.gif jk

Now, on topic, I think GTA political parodies would be hilarious. Especially one of Fred Thompson...

Seeing how Sam Houser is a HUGE Hillary Clinton fan, lol.gifsign-clinton.gif I think it would be witty to parody her. Just recently she claimed that when she visited Bosnia-Herzegovina during the Croation War she was under heavy sniper fire. Well, this was a blatant, outright lie. There wasn't as much as a cough within 50 miles of where she was. She made up this story to make herself look better. It would be nice to give her some REAL sniper fire to dodge by way of our Serb friend, Niko. tounge.gif

In case you didn't know, Democrats like Clinton are big on political correctness, anti-firearms policy, and appeasement, so GTA IV just flies in her face. I heard that the face of the Statue of Happiness strangely enough, resembles hers. icon14.gif ...if it's true.

Actually you phrase that incorrectly... I am probably one biggest bleeding heart stalwart Liberals out there... and I am absolutely for gun rights (as set forth in the Constitution.) And I'm not the only one. What we are for is increased responsibility and safety. More stringent background checks to prevent people who shouldn't have guns from getting them, better firearm documentation/registration to help law enforcement trace weapons... and mandated firearm safety classes (for those who buy one) to teach proper care, use, and precautionary protocols to avoid accidents. I also think firearm distributors at either the manufacturer or retailer level should also be required to provide a safety lock (to prevent the gun from discharging) with each firearm so that people may better ensure that their kids (or thieves) wont be able to use it if say they found/stole the gun in a shoebox stuffed in the closet.

I believe that private establishments have the right to ban guns on their own premises... just like you the citizen has the right to have one on yours. I also believe firearms should be reasonably concealed... to prevent intimidation issues among other things.

Some people people in my party believe that average citizens shouldn't be able to own fully automatic assault rifles or firearms exceeding a certain caliber. Is it unreasonable to believe that something shouldn't be available off the shelf for consumers that normally requires intensive training and education for our soldiers to get a hold of in the military?

Perhaps if people behaved better, and were better educated, had better opportunities in life, or were better treated for mental illnesses, and we had properly funded law enforcement we wouldn't have such a problem with gun related incidents in this country. the difference between Republicans and Democrats is that the latter wants to stop the root cause of the problem by investing in our society, and the former thinks that the problem can actually be solved on the back by threatening draconian punishment as a deterrent (which btw has been proven to be inefective.)

Being pro responsibility and safety doesn't make me anti-firearm as the conservative biased media would like you to think, rather it makes me sane.

On the topic of videogames...

Liberals/Progressives think video games like movies and music among many other things are a freedom of speech issue... we do not seek to restrict whats in the games or what they portray. rather we seek to prevent unsuitable material from getting into the hands of minors. Legistlation that Hillary Clinton has brought up does not seek to ban GTA nor does it seek to punish R* or Take Two, rather it seeks to create better enforcement of the law, by actually holding RETAILERS accountable (through fines) for selling Mature or AO to children. It's no different than not wanting gas stations to sell cigarettes to ten year olds.

Mrs. Clinton has used GTA (especially post hot coffee) as her poster child to get this point across. Sadly I have to say she's fairly ignorant (as many many many non-video game) people are of video games in general. This is what happened... her advisors and counsel, and media reports throw together sensational headlines and briefs that say "Children playing sex minigames in GTA" and it's given to her and she tweaks about the issue... and given her limited information/knowledge... rightfully so. What isnt told is that the average gamer is 33, that GTA isnt supposed to be given to kids as it's Mature ratings mandate, and that the actual sex minigame was fully clothed and ultimately pretty pathetic. When people assume the worst and go into outrage over these sorts of "travesties" it's because they are ignorant of the facts... not because they are bad hearted.

The following is a list of (purported) negative things about video games...

-Parents use video games as a babysitter and, therefore, don’t interact with their children as often.

-Children spend more time indoors and do not get enough exercise.

-Playing the games can take priority over responsibilities at home or school.

-Children who play games that are mature or violent may act inappropriately at home or school.

-They can be expensive, and children tire of them easily.

-More and more children, especially boys, are becoming addicted to video games.

...sound like something a Liberal would say? Perhaps... but the fact of the matter is that this list came straight Focus on the Family (a highly popular conservative Christian organization) http://www.family.org/entertainment/A000000995.cfm

The point is many people across all political bounds rail against video games for their own ignorant reasons... it isn't solely a Democratic issue.

@ Raptomex... I understand this is not a political site, but I also think that politics do include the issue of video games... and discussing what issues are surrounding it will help keep us better informed. And as they say a good Democracy is an informed Democracy... if we all know whats going on with video game politics we'll be better apt to ensure the freedoms we have now and ultimatley a freedom for GTA to exist in the future.
