sainraja
I have always wondered this. The flag most people have in their profile, is it suppose to tell other forumers our nationality or where we currently live?
Mr. Someguy
Niether actually. I could have the british flag if I wanted to.
EasyTiger
If a user chooses to wear a flag, it can be their nationality, where they live, or a random flag they like the look of. It's just an option really.

sainraja
Well, I wouldn't have asked but I have seen many people refer to a member's flag to determine where they are from, as in where they live. I used to have a Pakistani flag since I was born there so people could know my nationality but then some people thought I live there....
Runey
It can be whatever you want it to be really.

Icarus
I just use mine to show my nationality, which is also where I was born. Some people take certain flags not being in the database too seriously at times: Believe me I know what you are saying, but it is just a bit weird, ONE of the most wealthy areas of the world don't have a flag... This is a Grand Theft Auto-based forum, not the United Nations, so excuse the hell out of us for not having your country's pixelated flag in our system. I saw many people do that. I was gonna put up a Pakistani flag to show my nationality but it's not listed so I am going to use United States, where I live now. weirdal
Well, I've never been near Norway, but I'm Norwegian. Because one has Norwegian ancestors, does that make them Norwegian even if they weren't born, raised, or even been near the country? I mean, my Great great grandparents immigrated from Germany, does that make me a German? I've always considered myself an American with German heritage, not a "German" or "German-American" I don't really know how the demonyms work, so I'm actually curious about this. TenaciousD.
Only other reason I have for the flags are to change to your current location. Like when your on holiday you would change the flag to whatever country you go to. So I suppose I use it for my current location.
Stefan.
I use it to represent my nationality. I have dual citizenship (Serbian and Australian) so I switch sometimes, plus I have been to Serbia many times, and both my parents come from the region. And doesn't everyone have the right to choose their own flag? wierdal, he may feel patriotic about being Norweigan (sp) and who knows, he may only be a 2nd-generation Norwegian, which is a bit different from you, since you are 5th-6th generation (sorry, couldn't be bothered counting). CaliGangstar
I am not Jamaican, nor do I live in Jamaica. My flag represents an important life style decision I've made: smoking the ganja.
H4milton
Flags have meaning just like mine, The green and red flag is normally it looks, but its meaning is Red=Blood and Green=Country's Beauty. B4 the 1980s there was a map of our country in the red circle.

ILovePolarBears
I have the US flag, I think, but I use the default Invision Powerboard theme (it seems to be the only theme with an easier on the eyes dark-on-light color scheme) and so I don't see the flags. D- Ice
I'm Iraqi, born in Iraq, lived there most my life and came to the US less than a year ago. But I have the US flag because the puppet cocksuckers ruling Iraq have changed our flag to the gayest thing yet, and now I am embarresed as it doesn't represent me. The three stars that represented Liberty, Equality and Unity have been removed, only leaving the 'Allahu Akbar' (Arabic for 'God is Greater/above you'). I have no problem with that, but in Iraq this has a long History of miss-use and abuse. There is this old Iraqi song with 'Allahu Akbar' that used to play on the radio non-stop whenever there was yet another revolution underway. So when my grandparents would hear it, they'll stay at home to avoid the violence. Sadly the flag does represent Iraq today - No liberty, Equality or Unity and being in a constant state of revolution. Also flags to me are political and idiological, and I don't recognise that fa**ot Maliki's puppet government to that cockroach Ahmadinejad. I am also against virtually all policies that phony government made, like the Basra-Tehran pipeline they're planning. Moreover, Iraq is a dead country - in the state it's in, I wont call it sh*t, let alone a country. And besides, I like the US, I'm living here, and the government treat me a lot better than back in my motherland. And amazingly, I find it much easier to intigrate and be part of the country here than in the place where my people have lived for some 6,000 years! But that does not mean I am Iraqi and proud, and keep my culture, language etc... I'm just not proud of the 'country' Iraq has politically became.
