That's just a ship date.....since GTA4 is a high profile title they are probably going to ship it before the Official release date. Normally, they would ship a game the day of its release.

 

Even if the PS3 version ships early (which it doesn't, both versions will ship the same date I am pretty sure) it's just a day early.....and you won't have it on the 28th. You will have it on the 29th.

Well, all fanboy comments aside, the website really does say the 28th for PS3 and the 29th for the 360.

 

I'm sure it's a mistake though, both will be released on the 29th.

EDIT: He's not lying. He is talking about GameSPOT. Not GameSTOP....but it's probably an error, most likely an error. GameSPOT does not sell games. GameSTOP does.

What? That's not true at all. Games are always shipped prior to their release date to ensure that a) the game is on shelves ready to sell on the day of, and b) if theres a shipment error 2 days before release, the game store doesn't lose all their business over a little mistake.

Well, then it's true for my area. I have always gotten the games from stores the day after the official release date unless ofcourse it's a high profile game such as GTA4.

Only thing i know is that i paid my copy of GTA IV off today at Gamestop and was told just like i was with the release of San Andreas and other high profile games that they will be giving the game out on the 28th yes the 28th the evening of the 28th, i can recall getting San Andreas at 7pm est here in Nj and nobody believed me that u can get the game the night before, i told this to the manager at the store today and me and her just laughed, some people just dont listen. So i will be getting the game on the Evening of the 28th that is all i need to know as for what everyone else wants to argue about thats up to them.

Look, if you pre-ordered, you will get it on the 29th. Not 28th, or 27th. Unless you ordered online and the retailer decides to ship early and you end up getting it on the 28th.....

I've never gotten a game early if I pre-ordered through a store which is I mentioned in my earlier post that unless you ordered online and site decides to ship early, you probably won't get it a day early.

For some reason the store called and said it was available the night before the release so I went and picked it up there. I preordered at the store...It only happened with maybe one or two games so I'm not really expecting it to happen with this one. Doesn't really make a difference anyway.
