BeachFreak
I've started playing GTAIII again. Just to get that feel of jumping from old-gen to next-gen. It's gonna be awesome!
GATgoesPOP-pop-POP
I thought GTAIV was like a fresh start so playin the previous games has no bearing on the new game at all i think lol
Mad Tony
I have a feeling that GTA IV wont be related to the previous 3 GTA's much. It'll probably feel similar to how III felt after GTA and GTA2. Perhaps not as much though.
Jamshh
I thought GTAIV was like a fresh start so playin the previous games has no bearing on the new game at all i think lol Yeah. I suppose that playing the older games would provide a nice contrast, and I would, but quite frankly Call of Duty 4 is too addictive.

RONIN1191
Hell, I don't even have them anymore; I'm playing SR to get my GTA fix for the moment...ugh. You know what its like? Its like being told you won a date with Jessica Biel, and Britney Spears shows up as a consolation prize instead. I mean, it IS Britney, I'd do her...but I wouldn't like it half as much. wafflemaster
I'm keen to "warm up", but made the mistake of ditching my PS2 once the Xbox arrived !! Oh, and @ San Andreas bashers !! This remains one of the most playable, and enjoyable games on the market today as far as I'm concerned. Only on April 29th will it finally become obsolete !! mc420
that seems like a good idea.. until i sit down and start the new game, by the third or 4th mission i'd give up and realize the waste of time and because i beat each gta +10x it's pretty old. Yeah. I just played GTA III the other day, and it seems that games graphics were better than SA's... Well I guess I am fairly easy to please then, cos' I thought SA was immense. The scale and atmosphere were fantastic. Surely the (vast) improvements in shooting, driving and general gameplay physics, plus a greatly expanded square footage, compensate for any slight compromise they made with graphics ?? SA is my favorite by far and I'm not a graphic-whore or anything, but it seemed to get worse...at least on PS2.

I agree; overall, the graphics improved with each new installment- just look at the hands and facial animations. Not saying it was revolutionary, but there were improvements. My favorite in that gen is VC; SA was great because there was so much to do but I didn't connect with it like I did with VC.
Niall_S
SA came out back when i was only playing games for the sheer entertainment, well before i cared about graphics, physics, all that stuff... I think games where better that way. When people played games for what they were, not what they could have been.. E.G This could have been better, that could have been better, blah blah.. TheDooner64
I tried playing san andreas the other day and I can't believe how crappy it was. I think it was because it was only on PS2, too dark and sh*tty graphics. I would drive on the highway and cars would just appear out of nowhere, I guess that has to do with draw distance? I played vice city on xbox and it was 10x better, but still nothing compared to GTA4.
