necronom
I find it slightly worrying that we are less than a month away from release, it sounds like the game has done gold, and we STILL haven't seen a single frame of the game on the PS3! Or have I missed something?
damon-92
Nope dont think you have, and if there is something out there then ive missed it too lol only thing i can think of is the zoo mag but thats xbox
MalR
It's just cause more people have 360s, so the games Rockstar give to the people to play/review, are for 360. It's already been said by PLAY magazine, that there ARE NO DIFFERENCES AT f*ckING ALL. So why worry?
MysteryGamer
I wouldn't worry the game has been said by journalists not just Rockstar and Take Two that Grand Theft Auto IV is identical on both the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3. Now it is my understanding that the XBOX 360 version is slightly brighter where as the Playstation 3 version is just slightly smoother in graphics and thats it. I doubt these subtle differences will really be that noticeable in truth. I was like that though at first concerned that the Playstation 3 version would be somehow inferior but I have no worries now. d00d
I don't know if we've seen any, but a recent review (post-2007) said that the version they played was PS3 - and it was as good as the 360 version. Sorry, no sauce for you on that. =[

MysteryGamer
I just quickly dug up this older hands-on preview from IGN about the small differences of the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 versions: For the first time, Rockstar gave us hands-on access to both the PS3 and 360 versions of GTA IV. The good news is that no matter which system you prefer, you're going to have a great-looking game to play. There are only some minor visual differences noticeable between the two preview versions. The 360 build is brighter and has slightly more vibrant color while the PS3 build has less aliasing issues. Both display a solid, consistent framerate even during scenes with heavy pedestrian traffic and wild explosions. While graphics whores will find subtle differences to nitpick, the average Joe is going to be happy with either version. Less Aliasing = less jaggies. Why do you think they call the thing that gets rid of jaggies "ANTI-ALIASING" "while the ps3 has less aliasing ISSUES" Which means it has better antialiasing than the 360. Waphlez
Less issues doesn't mean more quality in terms of filtering (both will be running 4x AA most likely), maybe less buggy at certain spots. Even still, the difference is negligible because the only time AA makes massive difference is when you compare AA to no AA (which is worlds different), even if you ran 2x AA it looked much better than no AA. Also is HDR in the game? Makes me wonder only because the PS3's GPU, the nVidia RSX (based off of the G70) can't render HDR with AA as far as I can recall. Even if one version had higher than 4xAA it would be so hard to notice; I've ran Oblivion on 8xQAA and 16xAA on my PC (8800GTX) and the difference between 4xAA isn't really different (really, running AA that high is more like "look what I can Do!" sort of thing, a novelty). Really the different colors is going to be very noticeable to the eye, where as the AA issue, you'll probably have to pause the game and look at edges very closely to see differences (which will be hard to notice vs color which is very easy to notice). Travar
PS3 is notorious for its glitches, freezes and frame rate dropa in many games that are supposed to be identical... Like Assassins Creed, Orange Box, Rainbow Six Vegas 2... I wouldn't trust this time will be any different... there is probably a reason that 99% of the material we've seen is from 360. That's why I will never buy a multi-platform game on my PS3. Ever. No achievements and the crappy online service are another reason. And with the 360's exclusive episodic content, there's absolutely no reason to buy the game on the PS3 if you own both consoles. For those stuck with only a PS3, I feel sorry for you.
