Not many topics about paintball in the past I seen when I searched, hopefully this one will last longer than the past ones.

 

From my experiences on GTAF, I would of thought that paintball would be a popular sport. How many of you play, or have played it before? It's the fourth ranking extreme sport, and whenever I go paintballing on weekends, the arena is fairly packed full of people.

 

Anyway, yeah. Anyone here paintball?

I've never been paintballing but i would bloody love to, it looks amazing. There use to be a program on telly where teams went against these men and would have to do missions like a computer game style, it looked proper mint.

 

Me and my mates were supposed to go a while back but nothing ever happened , i'll seriously have to sort something out.

You should set something up, it's an amazing sport.

 

 

Scenario games are the ones where you do "missions" or re-enact wars, or something. That's probably what they did. I find them extremely fun to play, as well as speedball.

I saw paintballing once in a movie (I don't remember the name). The enemy was a blonde bombshell and the objective was to hit her. If you succeed, you can have her. Unfortunately, no such offers are available in India.

Ive been paintballing 5 times and needless to say its the most fun you can have on an adventure out. If you havent been paintballing before you should really check it out its amazing.

Paintballing is amazing. I went with school last year, there were about 40 of us, all split up into teams. Our English teacher had the biggest tits, she was like a size 36Z!! And we all devised a game where the first person to shoot her boobies would win a pound from everybody. Unfortunately I didn't win, she was on my team.

 

But yeah, paintballing is awesome, me and my girlfriend are seriously considering it.

Nice. That kind of reminds me how this weekend, me, my two best friends, and all of our girlfriends were going to go paintballing.

I got dumped last night.

 

No problem, though, saves me money. Do any of you have your own guns?

Not really. It leaves sort of a stinging feeling for about 10 seconds, but that's about it.

A Freak Barrel kit is $150 alone. An Ion is $165. And an Empire B2 hopper is $130. Your friend is stupid if he is selling all of that for only $150. If you buy it, ask yourself a few questions. How often do you play, and do you really need a new gun? Did your friend take care of his gun and other equipment?

 

If you buy the Ion, use Nitrous with it. If you don't, and you use CO2, you'll freeze the circuits and f*ck up the response.

It also depends on what you like to play. If you like to play speed ball more than woods ball, an Ion is good. A-5's are great to use on woods ball. A lot of people I know who play woods ball mostly use Tippmanns. So unless you really want to play a lot, and play speed ball, I'd keep the A-5. You can do a lot to an A-5. I would get a double trigger, get a nitrous tank, get a barrel like a Smart Parts Progressive, and then get an electric hopper. That will make you A-5 so much better than a stock A-5.

I only Paintball about once a year for a scenario we have here in utah called Aliens in the Rockies. I have an Autococker Sport of some sort, I kinda forgot the name.

 

 

The scenario is based on the universe of the 1986 movie Aliens. The premise is simple the research ship Centari Elizabeth has crash landed on Planet LV-529. The Colonial Space Marines have responded to the crash signal and have sent the nearest ship the USS Gallant Mary to conduct a rescue and salvage mission, after all finders keepers out in the cold of space.

 

The Mega-Corporation Weiland Yutani has dispatched thier fastest corvette the Stilletto Executer and a crew of bio-weapons mercenaries to salvage the wreckage from the hands of the greedy government and prevent the Marines from stealing any expensive Xeno-Weapons technology.

He takes more care of his gun than I take care of my Tippman, and I clean it up to 5 times a month.

Of course I'll be keeping the Tippman, it's my first gun (I got it three years ago) and it has sentimental value, and it's a great gun.

I speedball more than I do woodsball, though.

 

He's moving to Indiana though, and he's getting an Etek II as well. I think I'll take the deal.

Speaking of old guns, I picked up a 98 a few months ago for $5 off somebody I know. I've been meaning to sell it for more than that.

I have been paintballing quite a few times, its such a great game to play. Here we have this forrest that we go through and a old bombed out helicopter that we can hide in. Also there are multiple spots for snipers which is great. We also have minigames to play like go onto teams and play 'Capture the flag'. You start at opposite sides of the forrest and try and capture the opposition flag (red or blue) wothout being hit of course. Its one of my favourites, mainly cos i dominate every time, im so stealthy!!

My friend has a Tippman .68 carbine, one of the very old ones. He paid $100 for it, I sort of feel bad for him because he got ripped off.

About 2 years I ago I played semi-pro. My team played NPPL, one PSP even, and something called the Ohio Captains Council. World Cup was fun, I shot out some cool cats like Keely Watson, Ollie Lang, Todd Martinez (the f*cking douche), Chris LaSoya (also got drunk with him at the Philly event). Every once in a while the Philly Americans would come down to our practice field and play during open team practice.

 

I haven't really kept up with the sport at all after I left. I don't know the big events, teams, or who plays for who anymore (does Boston Legion/Russian Legion still rape?) I played 5 man and XBall. Good times.

I really want to go again, it's so much fun. I'm going back down there next summer so I'm hoping to get a round or two in.

I live in Los Angeles now. I moved away because of the hurricane, obviously.

 

Swamp scenarios were definitely fun. Especially in Louisiana, where my said friend knew some guy and we would drive out to their huge house in a secluded place (their neighbor is about a mile away, give or take), and they have this huuuge ass swamp / forest surrounding his f*cking mansion, and he stuck random forts / objects in them to play some matches. The guy who owned the house called about 20 of his friends every 2 months or so to hold some big matches. It was absolutely great.

 

f*ck, now I want to paintball again. I would do it here in LA but it's kind of awkward going by yourself. Most of my friends here aren't really interested in it, and my girlfriend sure as hell wouldn't do it, haha.

Shame, California has one of the biggest paintball scenes.

I'm going tomorrow to a local arena by myself, just got done taking my whole gun apart and cleaning it.

Between the hopper and the barrel, there were burrs stuck from when I played woodsball last, and the screws had white paint between the threading of it.

It hurts like f*ck if you get shot in the knucles. Last time i went paintballing with my cousin it was his first time i insisted that he should buy plated gloves to go over his hands and he refused and told me that nobody would hit his knucles, as far as irony goes he got shot directly on his trigger finger knucle and could fire the gun properly because it split his skin.

Yeah, that's true. I have padded gloves, but all the fingers right before the knuckles they end, and everytime I go paintballing I get hit in both hands at least once.

Most of the time it ends up breaking through the skin, and leaving my hand bleeding for a bit. I've dropped my gun and spilled some paintballs, but usually when I get hit in the hand I can hold onto my gun.

If you're just starting off, I recommend a Tippman. Maybe if you really get into it get an Ion or something, but yeah. Tippmans are definitely reliable.

Go for an A-5 or a 98 Custom, I currently own an A-5. Great all around gun.

I'd recommend an Ion because it's pretty simple, it's reliable, and you can do a lot with it. Not only that, but for the money, it's great. It can be set to semi-automatic, full-automatic, three shot burst, and ramping. It shoots 17 BPS, and it is categorized by some as the first high end gun for under $300. It's pretty accurate, even with a stock barrel, it's lightweight, and if you put a 68ci 4500psi tank on it, it makes it only better. Also, if it really means something to you, there's a number of different body kits that you can buy to change the appearance of the gun, and they're relatively cheap, only about $30-$40.

 

If you're really interested in playing, but not at tournament level, an Ion would be the gun that I would highly recommend.

That, or a Tippman if he's not gonna be playing in arenas. They're perfect for woodsball, and I've heard that you could slam a Tippman against walls, or leave them in a mud puddle for a few hours and they'd still function.
