Can't Lock on

Sniped Sniper

Hey I have this weird problem where I cant lock on to targets in GTA SA and VC. Im not sure if you can lock on in Vice city but I know you can in San Andreas.

I tried on both my new legit saves and a 100% save I downloaded which has all weapons on Hitman skill and I just cant do it no matter what I try. It just comes up with the Green/Yellow/Red Arrow above the enemies head when I click the RMB but thats only with melee weapons.

Or is it on the PS2/Xbox version only?

Please reply if you know how to fix it.

Note: I Have NO Mods and tried default settings.

Oh ok Ill try that thanks

Also just to see if it's the software or the hardware...

try the [Del] and [Caps Lock] keys to see if they will individually lock on target too.

Have you ever used the auto-aim feature? dozingoff.gif

@Bad~Boy#17: You need to be more specific. It helps avoid unwarranted posts.

@Sniped Sniper: Goto Options > Controller Settings and change the controller to 'Joystick'. You'll now have auto-aim.

in VC: you need to switch your controls from "standard", to "classic"

since this is is SA, i don't have SA for PC.

Then why bother posting? dozingoff.gif

Please refrain from posting if you aren't aware of the answer or don't have any idea of it whatsoever.

Yes. my PC is Joystick set.

I use a USB Logitech gamepad

AND

I can still use either the keyboards [Del] or [cap lock] keys to auto aim, as well as the gamepads #5 button.

You haven't understood the OP's question. He wants to have auto-aim without actually using a joystick. To have auto-aim with the keyboard-mouse combo, all that you need to do is set the controller to joystick and you'll have auto-aim.

I think everything that was there to be said has been said. End of topic.

Please understand, no one warrants any posts here. Also, since the OP didn't respond to any of the replies, there's no way of telling whether s/he found Bad~Boy#17's post confusing or not.

Because the OP mentioned both SA and VC: creepers answered the VC part, which is fine in a topic like this.

@girishb: Your first reply was fine, and it answered the OP's question perfectly. You didn't have to reply individually to each of the other posters. If anything was "unwarranted," that was it.

Anyway, locked.
