what does it mean to lock a topic

Moderators determine what is a reasonable post, thread (string of posts) and the behavior of anyone in attendance, as well as spam. When something is more personal, a PM or personal message can be used that relates squarely to an issue not related. Also avoid quote-trains which are rather offensive. Edit your posts/post box and the reply's quote box as well to keep things from over flowing. When in doubt, use the 'smell test' (GTA joke), refer to the Pinned topics.

It means nobody can respond to it.

It happens a lot.

The mods lock bad topics, and they also lock perfectly good topics too. Don't know the reason for that, but hey! *

That's why I also use the Official Playstation GTA Forum, mods there are more laid back.

* Some people say "They locked it because there was a topic similar to it."

Well, there may have been, and sorry it was made a year ago, and is on like page 40 of the damn search!

A repeat topic, useless topic, flaming topic (basically talking smack about someone) or anything that does not abide by the forum rules will be locked. After that, no one can post in it except for a mod.

and how do u reply to something. thanks and im sorry for being a noob.

There is a "add reply" button at the very bottom or top of the page in any given thread. The only time that you wont see it is when the topic has been "locked."
