WHY I HATE COPS OR THE LAW!

Recommended Posts

P.S. I know I probably sound a bit Schitzo in this thread but I'm not taking sides, just voicing my opinion.  icon14.gif

Hey man, I know what you mean about the cops, I actually used to want to be one, but I just dont think they should worry about a couple of kids tryin to have fun when there are people doing drug deals and and robbing houses around here.

They're just doing their job. You don't know whats happening behind the scenes, they might be moving you but they could have an entire team watching the dealers. Your their primary concern, believe it or not. They can arrest the guy on the corner for selling a bit of weed or stop you from breaking your neck.

P.S. Don't mean to sound like a walking cliché, but its all I've got.

Breaking my neck is a little extreme, I mean, I know you can get seriously f**ked up in skateboarding, but thats usually on halfpipes and rails, we dont have anything to work with, and every skateboarder is ready to take a fall. Personally I would go after the dude selling weed since that's actually illegal. I just think as long as were out of the way, not causing anyone harm it should be okay.

Haven't ya' heard? Skateboarding is a crime biggrin.gif

Anyway, he might be selling weed but your on public property making in the councils fault if you fall, unless your on private property and if you are I ain't even going there. They could give the guy selling weed a caution or stop you from injuring yourself. Whatever way you look at this they're doing their job and thats all can be said about it. Like I said before, if your pissed off about it get a petition going, thats what happened in my town and we have a park under construction (as sh*tty as it is).

Don't hate the player, hate the game!

Or, non-Gangsta' ;

Do not despise the law enforcement, despise the judicial system.

Enough with the f*cking skateboarding, what the hell are you doing to actually help the community where you live? you complain about how sh*tty is everything in your neighborhood and that the cops don't do nothing, but what are YOU doing? you can't leave everything to them and just lay back and scratch your balls AND expect to complain about them anytime you like.

When there are Knackers invloved there isn't much you can do about it, f*ck it, theres not much the police can do about it. They just pack up and leave.

And they know this how? I got robbed at gunpoint with a cop car right down the f*cking street. Believe it or not, they're not all-seeing.

Remember that police officers are human. Everybody makes mistakes. Obviously when a police officer makes a mistake he will be scrutinized more than say, an employee at a supermarket, but police officers do a great service to their communities and they are very deserving of our respect.

Lucky for you, despite your abrasive immaturity, should you find yourself in a situation where you need their assistance, the police will be there for you.

@Phil: I couldn't agree with you more. If your neighbourhood is so crap, then why the hell do you waste your time skateboarding? And, put a helmet on you brainless twat; I have nothing against skateboarding, but you admitted to not wearing a helmet to spite the police. Spite the police? If there's someone that should be complained about it should be you.

Because he's 16 and not a cop.

I think that might be a bit harsh. I know the type of place he lives in, hell I live in one too and he is not the one that should be complained against. I'm not sure where your from but have you heard of knackers/chavs? They are thugs and believe they are above the law, and to some extent they are. They can't be arrested because they live in caravans and just move if the police start poking their nose around. Its a tough situation but I do agree with you on one point; Put your God damn helmet on!

As much as everyone hates the law, can you imagine life without it?

Dead bodies would accommodate the streets. The average life expectancy would be 0.

They are just doing their job.

@ Ph3L1z14n0-What the f**k do you want me to do? Clean up all the trash? Even if I did it would get trashed within the next few days. Do you want me to tackle a crackhead selling something to someone? He'll most likely shoot me, or if he doesnt have a gun, beat me up, or something of the sort.

@ XN22-After you got robbed did you run to the cop and say "Hey I just got robbed!!"?

@ Stefan.-I dont not wear a helmet (if that makes sense) to spite the police, before we had this rule, I didnt wear one, I just dont wear one cause I dont like them, there bulky and annoying, and It's not like Im trying to kickflip over cars, Im just doing manuals really, and Ive fallen from them before, my head never hit the ground.

@ Seachmall-Thank you, those are exactly the type of people that live here, wannabe thugs who think they are above the law, it's always a giant group of 12 year olds who play San Andreas too much.

I think the funniest part of this topic so far is Typhus' suggestion to enforce laws against "thought crimes."

How can thinking (regardless of what they are thinking of) can be a crime? Thoughts only become crimes when it becomes a plan, seriously.

But your suggestion reminded me so much of 1984. Why didn't you call it crimethink?

I agree that the law enforcement need improvement, not stupid suggestions like Typhus'.

Because thinking of wrong things is the root of the problem and only by destroying the roots can we kill the whole plant. Otherwise it keeps growing and growing.

Ah, you see, you can't detect thoughts. It's impossible at the moment. But you can control them through subliminal messages. Plant them in mobile phone ringtones, televisions shows and those annoying music tracks they play in the cinema. You can at least try to create the kind of thinking you want by manipulating the mind. Then it's just a case of punishing those people who go against what you deem to be normal. Thus wiping out the few people who are immune to the mind control tactics.

@ XN22-After you got robbed did you run to the cop and say "Hey I just got robbed!!"?

Nah, he was gone by then. I did however call, they sent a unit out, I talked with him, gave a description and they went around looking. They didn't catch anyone though, this isn't the movies. They were however, very helpful unlike most people make them out to be.

Regardless though, if you're going to the park you should wear a helmet. When I skated I was into the miniramps, and after your first fall on one of those, you'll realise that helmets are good things.

Really? Seriously... really?

And you don't think people will notice? What you are talking would require an oppressive government. And while I personally have an authoritarian political view, I still think there are some restrictions on what government should enforce, and that includes thought control. You can NEVER eliminate crime complete, believing so is naïve. Your concepts for a future society has no basis in reality. It only exists in fictional works like 1984 (which btw is a good book).

I believe in liberty but I believe in Lenin's notion that it is so valuable that it needs to be rationed. Give people too much leeway and what happens? You have people who want anarchy. They want anarchy because they forget how wonderful firm government is. And if you have to pick through the mind of the masses to remind them of where their loyalties should lie then so be it.

And I reckon it could be done, if the standard of living as a whole is high. If a government is doing everything right, outwardly at least, then the people will not be as suspsicious as they have a tendency to be. Therefore they may not even notice what's going on.

But it wouldn't be done to opress anyone but rather steer them away from the kind of thinking that takes advantage of the system. Mainly lax attitudes to drugs and alcohol. The way I see it is that if moral virtue can no longer be trusted to parents or schools it takes an extreme method to reintroduce it.

You have no idea to know how something is RIGHT or WRONG, it is relative, and you have no right to control people's thinking, you sure as hell wouldn't like it for yourself, and by the way, there is NO PROOF that subliminal stimulation has an effect on people's behavior, so please, go to school, and then come back when you actually have something to say, hell, i sure know, i study psychology.

So please, go to school.

I'll say this again. If you want any kind of positive response you have to act in a mature manner and not slip in silly little insults. Who does it benefit?

You sure as hell wouldn't like it for yourself

I wouldn't bring it on myself though. Because I am loyal to my country and her ambitions no matter what. If you're not a criminal or a dissident or some convenient minority scapegoat you can lead a very happy life.

I mean, when people are so hostile to the police I feel it important to consider the motivations for such anger. Why is it? Because, to some, the very concept of authority is wrong. Their parents didn't beat them enough, the schools didn't teach them the value of shame and now even the police can't give them a taste of the real world because of a warped legal system put in place by weakling leftists who want to sell the whole nation to Brussels.

If anything the police and other emergency services need more money and more leeway on how far they can go in the persuit of swift and brutal justice. Because right now law and order is breaking down and society needs hope. And giving that hope should be the police. It should be them making sure our streets are safe, easing the mind of the general public, helping average people like you and ensuring that no one is exposed to more suffering than is necessary.

Let me put it this way, the country needs healing, it needs medicine, it needs a dose of morphine, a pat on the head and a kick up the arse.

The alternative is the complete breakdown of civilisation. Even though those who would love that would be the least prepared for such an occurence.

@WhittyC: OK, my bad, I may have judged you too quickly. It's bad to have that attitude though; just because you've fallen before and not hit your head doesn't mean that you will never hit your head. You can also land awkwardly and snap your neck, God forbid. Don't play with your luck; I can tell you from experience.

@Typhus: I think the more correct way of preventing deviant behaviour lies not in people's thinking, but through the things that influence them. This may sound a bit naive, but pretty much anyone under the age of 18 can be sub-consciencely (sorry for the spelling) be influenced by anything. Whether this be TV, media or religoun, we need to fix the influences. Thought police won't do anything, because it's difficult to change people's minds once they are over 18.

Well, you're underage. It's quite dangerous. They are only preventing you from overdrinking, which is quite possible at someone at the age of 16. Also, why are complaining about loss of alcohol? Can't you wait a bit more before you start drinking?

You may think that they're wasting their time, but they're not.

I'm sure underage drinking contributes to those murders.

I'm 16 and I drink occasionaly, one of my friends has eye problems and so he wears glasses, hes very self concious about it, especially when drunk. We bumbed into another group we kinda knew (one of them was a friends girlfriend) in town one night. We were talking when we introduced her to my friend (the one with the glasses) and she, a bit tipsy, said 'I'll remember your the guy with the glasses'. Noone paid any attention but two minutes later me and my friend were talking when he began to get heated over the comment. I took 5 of us to hold him back. He could easily have killed her (and us for that matter) had he swung for her. He was apolagetic the following Monday but that night he could have killed her.

Exactly. He may think it's harmless, but once he gets into trouble, he'll be regretting what he said and what he did.

I don't mind drinking once in a while (birthdays, etc.) yet I just can't comprehend why people would actually drink to get pissed. But, that's a different argument and it's not in place in here.

I never thought about how alcohol could cause murders and such, but their good points, I live one one house over from a pot house, there have been times in the summer where it would be the middle of the night and I could hear them yelling, drunk. I never understood how anyone could even like beer, to me, it tastes like sh*t, and my dad's a drunk so I know what it can do to a person.
