NEW HELICOPTER METHOD

okay, so you all know that the calm before the storm mission has a glitch allowing you to get the chopper, but if u fly too far away, mission fails and you die, right? well i have a trick that gets rid of the boundaries so u can go where u like! it may seem complicated, and i hav no pictures but just read, see if u understand...

 

1. do the normal trick that u would usually do to get tha chopper,

 

2. as you know, the building where u get the chopper from has a wide alleyway with the stairs to the roof, well, fly the heli into the alley, and park it so that the door on the driver's side is right against the wall, so when u get out, you'll come out the passenger door.

 

3. run up the stairs into the mission marker and watch or skip the cutscene.

 

4. okay, now you hav to be quick, ignore the triads shooting u and quickly jump off the roof, and land next to the heli, get in from the passenger side, (remember, the driver's side has to be against the wall) toni will get massimo out the chopper, then the driver should get out aswell, then quickly get in and fly away before the rotar blades slow down.

 

5.then there you hav it! u can fly away, anywhere to ur hearts content!

 

fun facts: *massimo is invincible so you can shoot him as much as u wish, and even use the chopper's blades to luanch him into the sky!

 

*the chopper is invinsible aswell, but if u do the health cheat while inside, it'll take damage like normal

 

*i discovered this trick over a year ago, it took until now to put it on the net

Just curious, - are you on PSP or PS2 ?

 

I have tried something similar on PS2 and found the doors locked (even when left open), - but maybe I never tried the passenger door (can't remember).

Funny thing is once you've grabbed the "doorhandle" then the helicopter would fly straight up and hover above without flying away

 

And yes it's everything proof, - it won't blow even when turned over! Only getting it run over by the El-Train or drowning it will destroy it.

i used the psp version, i dont see why it shouldnt work on ps2 (unless rockstar found out about the trick and locked the doors) thats why u'll hav to do the false idols helicopter trick if ur on ps2

Damn it. If this Maverick from this mission is everything proof, I don't know how I'll be able to put it in my garage. I wish I could get that everything proof Maverick but I don't know how I'll get it in my garage. Ah, crap. But thank you for contributing this method though.

I'm not a hundred percent sure but i think you can't save that helicopter anyway. you hav to get one in "false idols" to be able to store it

the problem is that the false idols method doesnt work on psp cuz the doors are locked

There Is indeed a way to get Faith's False Idols Maverick on PSP!

I've only done it once, so I'm not sure it's a definite way, but here goes.

 

1)Small preparation is needed before you start the mission, first get some rocket ammo (At least 8 rounds, preferably more as it's damn hard too shoot) and get a Firetruck ready to drive.

 

2)Start the mission, head over to Bellville Park in your shiny red truck.

 

3)Bit tricky this; make sure you shoot down the maverick so the wreckage lands on the road.

 

4)You might have a wanted level here, but try to ignore/survive the cops, and push the wreckage into your garage and save.

 

5)Walk out and stare in awe.

 

BUT if you aren't bothered on saving it, do what boothy says - it's way easier.
