R* has never marketed it's Mature rated games to children, and never will. It's the retail

stores, and irresponsible parents who put the games into the hands of minors, and yet, Jackass sues R*?!

Just think about this: Every time that asshole drags T2 into court, it's costs T2 money that could otherwise

be spent on their game development. Could it be Jack Thompson that reduced the size of the map? Is it

possible that R* ran out of money to finish the game, and so they had to scale it back to make it work?

Just a thought.

You're absolutely right, Joka22. Everyone needs to keep things in perspective here. The game is a fantasy, but this is an actual reality discussion about a real life human being. Even though your intentions are to be humorous, and you're just venting frustration, everyone needs to be careful to remember that everything you say here, you are accountable for.

 

It sounds cheesy like that commercial, but I'm serious...before you hit "Submit New Post", just STOP, and think for a few more seconds about wether, or not that's a good idea. When in doubt, throw it out.

Well, since you guys make it impossible to contact anyone important I ask if you could please forward this message onto a supervisor or manager!

 

In regards to your attempt at a Take Two hostile takeover to target T2 shareholders (I AM ONE):

 

That's complete and utter bullsh*t. As a shareholder I want NOTHING to do with EA in T2. You guys are the most bland cookie-cutter generic game designers, while some of your games are fun - none really bring anything to the table. Recycled characters and recycled game play and a depressing feel of 'sameness' between all your games. Get your hands out of T2's pockets, tons of shareholders are ready to sell their stocks the second you purchase T2, if you do at all. Myself included and every GTA fan who holds shares with T2.

 

Put your hands back in your pockets and stop taking Microsofts route. "Can't design anything half decent? Purchase it and make the money for it!"

Hi There,

 

Thanks for writing and sharing your concerns.

 

Every so often we get a frustrated player like yourself who thinks we've stacked the odds against them. Believe it or not, we play our own games, and know that you can see some pretty amazing dice rolls and card deals from time to time. However, despite what you may have heard or what you may suspect, our card deals and dice rolls are done completely at random. We don't do anything 'tricky' with the rolls or deals, and there are several reasons why we don't:

 

- It would be completely unfair

- It would require a TON of additional programming and code to make the dice rolls or card deals favor one person over another. We have to keep the games small so that they don't take forever to download in your browser. If we added this much code to the games, they would take MUCH longer to download.

- Pogo stands to gain nothing by giving an advantage to one player over another. We have systems completely unrelated to the deals and rolls that keep things fair for players of different ratings (the ratings calculations and the bully limiter).

- To be quite honest, we really don't care who wins a game of cribbage or backgammon, we just want to make sure the game applet is fair, and that's what we do.

 

If you add all those up, it just wouldn't make any sense for us to do anything but make the dice rolls and card deals as random and fair as we possibly can.

 

We do recognize that people playing on Pogo are going to see some dice rolls and card deals that normally are VERY rare. This is largely due to the astronomical number of games the average person on Pogo plays. Your average Backgammon player on Pogo plays several thousand games a year, whereas they would probably only play a few dozen Backgammon at home with their family or friends each year. If you play 2,000 games over the course of a year, the law of averages ensures that you're going to see rare occurrences more often than if you play a hundred or so games at home, just due to the fact that you're playing a lot more games.

 

Please know that I understand your frustration, and I just hope that this information will help you know that we're not 'out to get you' or anything like that. We do all we can to make the games operate fairly for everyone on the site.
