IGN will give 9.9, the game has to be 100% perfect to get a 10

 

I'm going to guess IGN as the following....

 

Presentation : 9.8 / 10

Graphics: 9.5 / 10

Sound: 10 / 10

Gameplay: 9.5 / 10

Lasting Appeal: 10 / 10

 

Overall: 9.8 / 10

 

 

It's already been said that the gameplay isn't very new other than the aiming system. And during the play time, people said thrown objects get caught on close corners. No doubt IGN will bring that up. Graphics will be good, but running a WHOLE world is tough and required a bit of a drop in texture. Nothing's been said about menu presentation, but that's always the llast thing you really notice. And we all know GTA's lasting appeal and spot on sound.

i think IV will get a 9/10 or so since graphics arent so good and graphics are a judgment point

bioshock was crap if that crappy game got a 10/10 then GTA4 deserves a 20/10

If a recycled game such as Halo 3 can get 9's, GTA IV undoubtedly deserves a 10. It'd strike me as suspicious if it doesn't.

No game deserves a pure ten, every top score issued is an offense to gaming evolution. The GTA-series has consisted of awesome games, but labeling them pure perfection is too tabloid in my opinion. I think the 8 and the 9 is underrated, a game is still great even if it gets an 8. It's like rolling a five on the dice!

You don't really understand the concept of the 'painting' style graphics... in a game this massive, with this much detail, the closer you get to something the more detailed it will be. All of the videos we've seen with draw distance have looked leaps and bounds better than the screenshots do. When it's in motion the 'painted' backgrounds will look like very realistic animation. The framerate is a solid 30fps, that's been confirmed. And it's also been confirmed that there will be 0 loading times other than the very first initial load, no loading time when you walk into a building, no loading time when you fly over the city, no loading time when you're walking the streets!

 

Really R* is shooting for a 10/10, I don't doubt their ability.

So PS3 version is a 10

 

and x360 version is a 9.0,

 

beacuase we all know the game has better graphics on the PS3 and plays on the superior controler with the best sound and gameplay on the superior format Blu-ray with the best load times.

both have same graphics, controllers are a matter of opinion (i presonally prefer the dualshock3 since i have grown up playing with the PS controllers and i dont need to use AA batteries), and PS3 will be getting its own DLC, just not the episodic content on 360

 

so no console is 'better' just better to those who prefer which console to play it on

the more i look into this game the more hyped i get.. this game has it all: a cover system, multiplayer, on both PS3/360, variety of weapons, RAGE and Euphoria engine, realistic explosions and other effects, endless amount of missions, free roam, nice graphics, DLC, a huge detailed city, etc..

 

if any game deserves a 10/10 i think GTA4 is more than qualified..

and a sh*tload of vehicles. definitely a 10/10

I'm sure some reviewers will give it a perfect score & I'm sure some will give it a great score, but not perfect. And there will probably be some shim who gives it a good score, that we players will think is a bad score, just because it's not a 10.

There's a huge possbility that it could get a 10/10. However I'm guessing that will get a 9/10 just because. Not many games get perfect scores, but there's still a big chance that GTA IV could get a perfect score

A 10? Well, sure there is a chance. But I doubt it.

 

GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas have ALL received a 9.6 rating on Gamespot (on the PS2). Considering GTAIV is next-gen and is totally different than the past games, I would expect something above a 9.6

Which "they"? It seems like everyone on this thread is talking about different websites/publications.

 

Also, if I'm not mistaken, EGM gave both Vice City and San Andreas perfect scores, as well as Halo 2. So I know they will more than likely give GTAIV a perfect score as well, barring any major unforeseen design flaws.

I haven't played it and haven't actually seen any videos of it actually playing. Tons of games get high praise before release only to fail miserably. I don't think this is the case with GTA IV, but I won't crown it yet.

No IGN gave Halo 2 9.8 i remember that and i think they gave Halo 1 9.6/7 not too sure, weird because 1 owns 2
