Dylan Russell, 16, was found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm following a trial at Teesside Crown Court. The court heard Russell and his brother Michael, 20, were both at a house in Hartlepool in the early hours of October 24 last year, when a row broke out. It ended with Wayne Rogan, 23, suffering a deep wound to the neck. Both brothers, of Murray Street, Hartlepool, denied wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Judge Peter Fox QC, the Recorder of Middlesbrough, said that after the row, the pair armed themselves with weapons, a samurai sword and a knife, and returned to the house. “To begin with, you broke windows above the door, and then, when people came out, much more serious violence was perpetrated,” he said, sentencing the two yesterday. He told Dylan Russell: “What you did to Wayne Rogan could so easily, but for the wonders of modern medical science, have ended his life. “The wound you inflicted to his neck could so easily have severed his head from his body. It was deep and it was long.” The jury found Michael Russell not guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, but guilty of affray and possessing an offensive weapon. He was sentenced to 12 months in a young offenders’ institution. Michael Bosomworth, defending Michael Russell, said his younger brother was a bad influence on him. Michael Russell had no previous convictions for violence and a good work record. But the same could not be said for Dylan Russell, said the judge. His previous convictions included having a lock knife in a public place and assault causing actual bodily harm. Dylan Russell must serve a minimum of three years before he can be considered for parole. “I have no choice whatever, even making every allowance for your years of 16, that you pose not only a significant but a serious risk to the public, so far as one can presently say looking into the future,” said Judge Fox. “It is not only my duty but my judgment that you should go to detention for an indefinite period.” This guy used to go to my Primary School(about 6 year ago) hell I was in the same class as him, a real nutcase, large scar down the left side of his face. He lives like...afew streets/blocks away from me, he got kicked out of his first secondary school, about year ago, about a month after he got kicked out of his last school, he came to my school, then got kicked out the SAME day, he beat this boy up 2 years under his own(Year 10 - Year 8) In Year 11 now, so it was just under a year ago this happened. I'm guessing the only thing he'll be doing all of his life will be going in and out Prison, idiot.
Typhus
You knew this guy? I'm sorry you had that misfortune. I once knew a madman too. Another nutter who played with knives, this kid stabbed his own Mother, the blade broke off in her body. Somehow he's been released.
