osmaeel
first of all most games now are coming to be 1080, and most games have an options to change it and GTA4 will be both 720 or 1080 depending on the tv and the wire. btw a side note GT4(gran tursimo) has 1080i as a option and i can't put it on because i dont have hdmi wire but my tv is 1080p 52" so alot of games have 1080 first of all even you can check it out if you have GT4 but you can't do it while in a race. so GTA4 will be both and alot of games have 1080 end of story and im not here to fight so dont start a fire. and btw who ever said 720 is better then 1080 is just dumb. CharmingCharlie
what aloud of sh*t corse games run on 1080p i play cod4 and thats 1080p and it goes like this 570p 1080i 720p 1080p so 720p is better than 1080i so where still gettin a realy good looking game think 570p is one of the resolutions There is quite a difference between running a game that is rendered natively in 1080p to running a game that is rendered in 720p and upscaled to 1080p. It is well known that COD 4 is NOT rendered natively at 1080p, hell it isn't rendered natively at 720p. Call of Duty 4 on both the PS3 and 360 has a natively rendered resolution of :- 1024 x 600 @ 60fps with 2 x AA source :-http://www.ripten.com/2007/11/22/infinity-ward-asked-about-cod4-sub-hd-resolution/ This was discovered by the same guy that discovered Halo 3 was only 640p and he used exactly the same techniques he used to reveal Halo's low resolution. The fact that the consoles are relying so heavily on upscaling is one of the reasons why PC visuals are a lot sharper and crisper. The PC renders the graphics natively at what ever resolution the user chooses, it does NOT use a scaler to do the job. I think you guys should be grateful to Rockstar that they didn't choose to do what Infinity Ward did, be grateful the game is 720p @ 30fps. No. GT4 is for PS2 and 720p can eventually get better than 1080i, because most of the TVs today (or at least LCDs) have 1366x768 or 1920x1080 displays, so if you have a HD ready tv with 1366x768 screen that supports 720p and 1080i, you will get a worse picture from the 1080i signal, because it shows just 1366x768 pixels but interlaced, which is worse than the progressive signal with 1280x720 pixels.
