That will nothing but bad news for R* and GTA, shorter deadlines, lower quality, more repetition. EA wants a cashcow their policies and tendencies don't exactly encourage innovation. While Rockstar is semi-independent and would likely break away from T2 in the event of a merger, T2 actually owns GTA itself so Rockstar would lose GTA forever. Rest assured that if this did come to pass Rockstar would simply create a new game franchise exactly the same as GTA...just called something different. EA may make more pressure on them to making more GTAs and rush them out too early before all the major bugs are finished. It was rumoured that EA wanted to release GTA during the easter holidays so they would make more money. Take2 and all corporations (cocacola, EA, sony, panasonic etc) are basically run by the shareholders. The CEO reports to them, and everything he does must be approved by the shareholders. The shareholders are millionaires, even billionaires who just care about making more money. Pretty much all they care about is more money. That is why EA did a dirty move and went straight to the shareholders and offered them i think 25per share after their first offer was refused by the CEO, which made many of the shareholders very upset. So don't be surprised if T2 is bought out by EA very very soon. In my opinon it will not effect this gta, but it may for the future. Chances are that EA will not change the game too much (they did reject help from Thompson which is a good sign) Rstar care about their buyers where EA, umm not as much. It wouldn't be on the cover of the box. All GTA games to date have only carried the Rockstar logo on their cover while T2's logo (if it's on the box at all) is one the back cover. I would hate for that degrading EA logo on the front of the box. But I don't think the logo will be on it. If the deal does go down before the release date, it wouldn't make sense to stick EA on there in the last second. Actually, as a matter fact, I don't even think the Take-2 logo appeared on any of the past GTA boxes. Although I could be wrong. I don't have a GTA case nearby to check.
