Eddie280
Ok basically a few days ago I was working on some Coursework which I had emailed home from school. I finished it while saving all the way through. When I was saving I never got an overwrite message or anything. So i finished working and e-mailed it back to School so i could print it off. I got there the next day and I check my inbox. I open the attachment and boom. Only 1 paragraph. 3 f*cking pages gone. So I stayed calm and went home. I checked my files and there was only the sh*tty paragraph I'd done before i E-mailed it home the first time. Ive checked everywhere and I cant find it. I looked at recently changed files and The time and date modified of the file are what they should be if it had saved the whole thing. But its just not there? I never got a message saying do you want to save before you close Microsoft word so I assume its saved somewhere? Is there any way I can get the file back? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Crokey
I don't know if you've done this, but you could try using the Search function for the file, even try searching for *.doc in the search box, to find all .doc files on your hard drive. Also do you have 'View Hidden Files' enabled as Word should auto-save every 10 minutes or so (or less), if you don't then enable it and you might see a temp file (in the directory you saved the original in) which will have the auto-save data in it, that should have pretty much everything you did on the document barring a couple of sentances/paragraphs at the end.
