CosmosTheMouse Posted March 13, 2008 Share Posted March 13, 2008 Here's something that hasn't been in ANY GTA game as of yet. The most simple command. SITTING DOWN. Sure you sit down when you enter a car, but I can't help but think of all the GTA games that came and went. Benches and chairs all over town.... and you can never really "sit" on them. With the advances made, and GTAIV soon to be released, still no sitting down gameplay screenshots (of Niko anyway). With the added "comedy clubs" IV has to offer, I would hate to think i'll be standing in the back of the club the whole time watching instead of sitting down. While it's not a big deal, with a game like IV where you have the chance to take everything in.... sitting and watching people and the environmental stuff go by would be nice. Usernamehere Posted March 13, 2008 Share Posted March 13, 2008 I agree after beating GTA SA I tried to be a Law Abiding citizen (I failed quite miserably with my crime habits) and anyway I tried once to sit down on a bench near a beach and wacth for a few minutes, but i had to crouch on the bench and look like a complete weirdo. I think it would be good and inconspicuos for like a wacthing mission where ur sitting on a bench reading a newspaper and looking at ur target and wacthing him instead of standing still looking straight at the guy u know? My job is killing over 65's that are no longer useful to society for burning at power stations to help with the current fossil fuel crisis therefore I think this aspect of the game is a bit too much like being at work. That was the best, most original and awsome feature of R* humour! Some may say sitting down would be pointless, and it kind of is, but it wouldn't be very hard to add to the game, so they minus well. But you have a point, if we can do as worthless things as getting a date in a GTA game (no, I will never stop being bitter about it as long as I have no GF myself), or toss money to beggers, I see no reason for not put the sitting down option. There must be some people who like it since in the VC 2004 total conversion mod, they add the option for Tommy to sit down, and it was funny getting him to sit down on pointy cones and stuff. That said, I also would like to be able to sit down in the game. Whether it's on a bench looking out at the view, in a booth at a diner or bar sometimes I do just feel like letting the character sit down and watch the world go by. Because it's logical. I didn't ask if he could brush his teeth or anything. Rockstar said they were going for realism in this GTA... Sitting in a world of realism only makes sense. Like I said before, if you went into a comedy club, nobody is just standing in an isle watching the show. and if you are allowed to go into them during multiplayer... well I would think sitting would be an option. Seriously though, I thought the idle time in SA was great because you could just chill and do whatever while CJ sang to himself and people walked by. I liked how he would always zoom in on the action as it happened in that game. In fact one of the coolest things to do IMO in between missions or slaughterfests was to grab up some of your homies and chill in the front yard of some house and watch crazy crap just go by you while you sit and do whatever your drug of choice is. After your good and wasted the comments that the pedestrians would make would just get more and more hilarious and the occasional cop getting blasted by some thug was sooo satisfying!
